I love autumn. Honestly, it is the best season. I could say it’s because I love the colour the leaves change as the weather gets colder. Or that all the festivities, including Halloween, Bonfire Night, Hanukkah and Christmas are all the best events of the year. But really it’s because we get to wear great knitwear again. This season, it’s all about the Breton jumper. The Arket white and blue striped version has already sold out (with the blue with white striped version still available), and every time I wear my Baum Und Pferdgarten roll neck Breton knit, I get compliments.

The only thing I’ve found with this style of jumper is that it can seem a little repetitive. I’m guilty of jumper wearing mine with jeans and that’s it. But I’m here to tell you that there are so many other ways to wear this item of clothing. I’ve dug up plenty of influencer looks that are great for Breton jumper outfit ideas. From the classic black trousers pairing to stirrup leggings with loafers, I’ve found seven Breton jumper outfits that are ideal for autumn and even winter. Keep scrolling for more.

Style Notes: There’s something so chic about stirrup leggings—maybe it’s because they seem much smarter that the classic versions. I love how Grece has paired hers with loafers (the shoe of the autumn) and the blue Breton on top.

Style Notes: If you’re still WFH then this is the ultimate outfit for you but also works if you need to dash out for a quick coffee with a friend. True, the sandals aren’t going to work when it gets super cold but for now, this is a great hybrid outfit that works for weather that’s not freezing but isn’t summer anymore.

Style Notes: A pair of black trousers and a Breton is ideal if you keep wearing yours with jeans on repeat.

Style Notes: Who says you have to fully wear your Breton to look chic. Throw yours over a knit dress over your shoulders and add boots for a truly wintry look.

Style Notes: Yes, you can wear your Breton jumper for a night out. Case in point—this outfit. Pair with strappy sandals and slim-fit trousers and a chic handbag.

Style Notes: Behold, your weekend Breton jumper outfit. Loose-fit tailoring and sneakers never looked so good.

Style Notes: Sassy shorts and over-the-knee boots might seem a little OTT but add a Breton knit and it immediately becomes super chic.
