What happens on TikTok definitely doesn’t stay on TikTok, and thank goodness for thatbecause some of my all-time favourite purchases have come from my aimless scrolling. That’s exactly how I found out about Dior’s universal Backstage Rosy Glow Blush (£27).
A few months back, there were claims that Kylie Jenner and her makeup artist, Ariel Tejada, were big fans of the Dior blush, and the news quite literally almost broke the internet. Okay, maybe it was just the Dior website. I remember trying to convince myself for weeks that I didn’t need to add another blush to my ever-growing collection, and then in just a matter of days, I found myself frantically on the hunt for one that wasn’t sold out. After what felt like weeks of searching, I was happy to finally get my hands on my own blush to see what all the fuss was about.
The blush claims to create the appearance of naturally rosy cheeks for the ultimate fresh, glowy effect. I’m someone who absolutely loves a pop of colour on the cheeks, so I knew instantly that this blush would be right up my street. Infused with Colour Reviver technology, the well-loved blush reacts to the skin’s moisture when it’s applied for a personal pop of colour that looks unique to each person.
Now that I’ve finally had the chance to test out the blush for a number of weeks, I’m ready to spill all the tea, and below, I share my honest thoughts.
It didn’t take me long to figure out why this blush has become such a success. On my first swipe, I was mesmerised at how noticeable and velvety the blush looked on my cheeks. I was initially quite apprehensive towards the bright-pink shade, as I wasn’t sure whether it would go with my complexion. But to my delight, it gave me the perfect flush of colour.
It’s a really buildable blush that complements all makeup looks, whether you’re going for something subtle or something to make you stand out. I also found that it blended really well when worn underneath and over the top of some of my other favourite blushes and highlighters.
Overall, I was really impressed with just how well suited my complexion was to this blush, despite initial reservations. TikTok certainly got it right with this one, and I couldn’t be happier. If you’ve been wondering whether it’s genuinely a good blush or just all down to hype, I can confirm it’s just as good as, if not better than, the raving reviews claim.
