It’s strange to admit that I’ve never owned a pair of beige jeans (or white, but that’s another story). As someone prone to spills and messes, I’ve steered clear of them for 27 years. But just recently, I finally decided to give it a shot, namely because I’ve been seeing so many people looking hella chic in them on social media. In pursuit of a similar look, I found the Old Navy Extra High-Waisted Sky Hi Straight Ecru Wide-Leg Jeans ($45), which looked like they’d take me from spring to summer and fall, no problem. Obviously, I added them to my shopping cart – and nearly ripped them out of the package when they hit my mailbox.

If you’ve read my reviews before, you know I’m a fan of wide-leg jeans. As someone who’s among those to kiss skinny jeans goodbye for the foreseeable future, they’re my new go-to. I think they elevate just about any look, even this sports-bra-turned-shirt pictured above. (And yes, I put them on so fast that I forgot to take off the tag first.) One happy reviewer writes, “These jeans are exceptionally well constructed,” adding that “the fabric is very solid.” They deem them a bit too heavy for summer but say they’re “perfect for spring.” I don’t entirely disagree, but I think they’d work for a breezy summer evening, too. A second person raves, “I ordered an 8 tall and these jeans look sooo good,” describing them as “figure enhancing with a high waist and loose fit.” The best part of the comment? “My boyfriend thought they were really HOT!!!” they wrote. It’s true – these jeans are a serious confidence booster.
