It goes without saying that there was a long list of things that I missed during last year’s lockdown, and small though it may seem, oneĀ of themĀ was people watching.Ā I’ve always loved sitting on the tube or walking down Oxford Street and eyeing the outfits of London’s fashion-lovers, gatheringĀ inspiration andĀ admiring original pairings. Thankfully, the last few months I have been allowed to resume this pasttime and there have been a fewĀ winter trends that have come to the fore.Ā
While it’s clear that theĀ puffer’s reign shows no sign of waning, I’ve also noticed thatĀ Londoners have embraced the feel-good appeal of interesting accessories: Think bright colours and statement silhouettes. There are 3 cult items in particular that I keep seeing everywhere: Arket’s colourful beanies, Acne Studios’s checked scarves and Prada’s chunky loafers. While varying in aesthetic, each one has the ability to elevate cold weather basics without compromising on practicality.
