The 2000s-Inspired Coach Handbag You’ll See Everywhere This Holiday

November 29, 2022 at 11:00PM

The 2000s fashion resurgence isn’t going anywhere, as trends like cutouts and Barbiecore pink are more popular than ever. Coach is the latest brand to pay homage to the bygone style era, with the reissue of its ($295), a popular handbag that originally debuted in 2003.

The coveted accessory comes in an array of playful colors, like red, bubblegum pink, baby blue, and candy apple green. It’s just as stylish as it is functional, boasting an adjustable strap, an outside zip pocket, and plenty of room for all your essentials. What’s more, it’s eco-friendly, made from a jacquard blend of organic cotton and recycled plastic bottles.

The handbag relaunch coincides with a new major campaign from the brand, featuring a Y2K-inspired shoot with influencers Anajah Hamilton and Gabrielle Richardson wearing crop tops, visors, miniskirts, and tights from the brand.

Coach recently debuted a holiday 2022 fashion ad featuring none other than Jennifer Lopez wearing nothing but a Coach varsity jacket and the brand’s logo-covered socks. The “Feel the Wonder” campaign also spotlights Zoey Deutch and Chan-Young Yoon in a “playful celebration” of whimsical fashion, lensed and directed by Anton Gottlob.

Lopez joins a long list of celebrity ambassadors for Coach, including Lil Nas X. The 23-year-old rapper stars in the brand’s Courage to Be Real campaign, which debuted in early October. Shot by Petra Collins, it features Lil Nas X on his journey to become a superstar, moving through challenges and life experiences in a dreamlike sequence. Much like Lopez, the “Industry Baby” artist is impeccably styled, wearing a purple shaggy coat and matching suit while holding a Coach Tabby bag in his hand.
