With weddings back on the agenda (the sort that bears a striking resemblance to those held prior to 2020), holidays on the horizon, and the general enthusiasm that comes with brighter, warmer days, spring is all we can talk about right now. And with it, a large portion of our conversations centre around what we’ll be wearing this spring. Like anyone else, each of our editors has their own unique aesthetic, honed by the things which they, of course, like, but also defined by the things they don’t. With the two year anniversary of the first wave of salon closures coming up later this month, it’s fair to say our strands have be subjected to their fair share of damage. But this year, the hairscape is looking optimistically different.For starters, appointment availability is aplenty, and it finally feels as though our hair routine (for the most part) is back to normal. While 2020 was spent trying to make our pre-lockdown cut last as long as possible, 2021 consisted of trying to get our strands fighting fit after all of the 2020 neglect. Finally, the weather has turned and it’s time for us to start de-layering, dusting off those trench coats and coming out of hibernation— those pub gardens aren’t going to fill themselves, after all. There’s plenty of exciting things to look forward to, but if the thought of dressing for a whole new weather system (and the occasions it brings with it) is a little overwhelming right now, don’t worry. The British-born brand has developed a knack for creating a variety of pieces that are unique and still work for the everyday. Statement prints ate an integral part of the brand’s DNA and are some of the best I’ve seen on the high street. From statement swirls to trending checkerboard, there’s sure to be a print to suit your aesthetic. March 16, 2022 at 06:14AM Whenever I wear a double denim outfit there’s almost always someone who comments on how ‘brave’ I am for wearing such a bold look. Okay, so I understand the reservations some people might have around the 'Canadian tuxedo'—most of which relate to a certain Justin and Britney look c.2001 or, alternatively, the memory of a questionable teenage outfit they’d rather forget—but I find that double denim is one of the coolest, and easiest, looks you can wear for spring. If you love co-ords and boilersuits, or embraced the tonal dressing trend, then I’m certain you’ll love double denim. For me, it’s an easy pairing that requires relatively little effort and thought, and has just the right amount of retro charm (you know me). With heaps of different attachments available to deliver whatever effect your heart so desires, it delivers good bang for its buck. However, the attachments the Airwrap is best known for, the barrels that utilise Dyson’s Coander technology to create big, bouncy volume, are by far my least favourite. You see, my hair is thin, poker-straight and long, meaning that finding ways to give my hair volume with as little effort as humanly possible is a pretty high beauty priority for me.But the truth is, I find the barrel attachments a bit of a nuisance.
