The Best High-Street Buys We’ve Seen on Instagram This Month

March 19, 2022 at 06:02AM The team at Who What Wear UK prides itself on uncovering cult items before they’ve even made it off the production line. We’re keen, to say the least, and a great portion of our time is spent documenting and analysing the Instagram posts of the thousands of cool women we follow on Instagram for high-street sightings. In fact, we have WhatsApp groups and Slack channels dedicated to these affordably priced power pieces, and we want to update you on them as soon as possible (after we’ve bought our faves). Our skills are so attuned that, more often than not, we’ll have an inkling about a certain piece before it has hit the big time. Sometimes, you’ll find a flurry of brand-specific action due to a paid activation or a natural desire to wear a particular thing or label. But…

PSA: COS’s Sellout Crossbody Bag Is Finally Back in Stock For Spring

March 19, 2022 at 06:00AM Listen up, everyone. I’ve found the perfect bag. Not only is it ideal for daily life—it fits your wallet, a mask, hand sanitiser and even a bit of makeup—but it’s also great for evenings out. Don’t believe me? Well, the good news is I’ve collected the evidence to prove how versatile and chic this bag actually is. But first, let me give you the details. It’s a leather crescent-shaped handbag with a thick strap. It’s smooth and pretty featureless, other than a couple of silver belt studs and a well-hidden zip. There’s no denying that it bears more than a resemblance to The Row’s Banana Bag, but it comes at a much more affordable price point. So far, I’ve spotted minimalist queens Marisa Martins and Alexis Foreman wearing this bag. Foreman opted for a tee-and-skirt look with hers, while Martins went for a…

I Never Loved These Colours, But These 4 Outfits Changed My Mind

March 19, 2022 at 06:00AM Rightly or wrongly, neon isn’t a colour category that has, historically, been associated with sophistication. For me, it has long been synonymous with dodgy ‘rave’ themed university nights out and the T-shirts in Tammy Girl that my mum never let me buy. But, as we all know, fashion designers love nothing more than a sartorial challenge, and this season we saw highlighter hues given the elevated treatment. And you know what? I am on board. At Alexander McQueen’s SS22 show the neon trend manifested in bright pink suiting, while at Molly Goddard it was all about neon yellow tulle styled with faded, wide leg jeans. Even fashion classicists, such as Emilia Wickstead and Roksanda, experimented with paintbox brights, resulting in long-sleeved midi dress rendered in tangerine oranges and lime greens and shocking pink base-layers paired with flowing satin skirts. But, away from the runway, how do we practically incorporate this statement-making trend into our…

Alexa Has Spoken—These Comfy Slingbacks are the Shoes of the Season

March 18, 2022 at 10:02AM Suffice to say; I have a pretty big thing for shoes. A fashion editor who loves shoes? Go figure! But out of all the items you can decorate your wardrobe with, shoes are the piece that I find the hardest to resist. Sizing is seldom an issue with shoes, for one, and eleven years into my career, I’m still impressed by how the simple switch of a shoe can completely reimagine an outfit. As such, I’m always open to adding new shoes to my wardrobe. The pair I currently have my eye on? Gucci’s crystal slingback shoes. Interest piqued? It should be.Alexa Chung wore the Gucci shoes I’ve had my eye on for the last six months. I first saw Gucci’s crystal slingbacks last winter—its logo GGs applied delicately to mesh in teeny rhinestones. Although perfect for parties and…

Trust Us—If You Only Get One Haircut This Year, Get This One

March 18, 2022 at 08:00AM When the now-popular shag haircut started garnering attention towards the end of 2020, we knew it would be the sort of hairstyle that would stick around. You see, over the past couple of years, how we approach our hair has totally changed. For starters, we want our hairstyle of choice to be as effortlessly wearable as possible. Pre-2020, we were used to reaching for heat-styling tools every single day, nowadays, we’re feeling much more comfortable simply embracing our natural texture. On top of this, we’re also leaning towards styles that don’t require regular salon appointments. After spending the best part of a year unable to get salons, it’s safe to say we’re appreciating low-maintenance styles more than ever. And it is for those two reasons that the shag was bound to become a go-to style.Supermodel Julia Stegner’s long shag haircut is…

These Hairstyles Will Take Years Off Your Face

March 18, 2022 at 08:00AM I don’t know about you, but the past year has felt long. I’ve got more grey hair and more wrinkles, and despite going to bed earlier, I’m still tired. There’s no denying that I’ve felt like I’ve aged faster in lockdown. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with this (I have no issues with changing hair colour or a few lines on my face), the speed at which it has happened has been a little disconcerting. I want to feel like myself again, and for me, that means getting a haircut. Over the past few months, I’ve lost count of the number of people who have said their hair needs cutting, from my husband to my colleagues as well as my parents. The craving to get a chop has been strong. Personally, I’m desperate to get my hair cut back into a…
