Kendall, Bella and Hailey All Love This Controversial Trend—And I Do Too

August 16, 2021 at 12:00PM It’s a real feat of fashion design to be able to tread the line between uber-sass and sophistication. But Jacquemus somehow manages to pull it off season after season. Whether it’s cut-out skirts, fitted dresses or cropped shirts, there’s no escaping that his more revealing pieces still look chic. Part of the winning formula is to do with the way in which an outfit is styled but also I’d say that he often sticks to a more muted palette (with the exception of the bold pinks and oranges) and this gives the pieces a more demure sheen. This season, it’s the turn of the micro cardigan. Spotted on various celebrities—Kendall Jenner on the most recent Jacquemus runway as part of the La Montagne collection, Hailey Bieber out an about in L.A. and Bella Hadid outside the Jacquemus show—it’s suddenly become a…

2020’s Coolest Sandal Drop is Back, and I Road-Tested the Best Styles

August 16, 2021 at 10:27AM Fashion collaborations come in a variety of guises; some result in an exciting fusion of design aesthetics while others, well, let’s just say should’ve just stuck to what they do best. Proenza Schouler and Birkenstock might not have been the most obvious of fashion bedfellows, but when these two brands dropped their first sandal collaboration last year, the fashion crowd couldn’t get enough—and neither could we.Bringing all of Proenza's design know-how and the comfy, hard-wearing appeal of Birkenstock’s iconic sandal, the resulting styles entered the market just as the 'Gorpcore’ trend was hitting the big time. With their clean lines, pops of colour and comfortable fit, they were a rare meeting of form and function. So, it came as no surprise to us when we found out this sellout collection was coming back for 2021.“Birkenstocks have always had a special place in our lives and are one of the few…

I Turned 41 This Month, so I Had a Thread Lift—Here’s Why I Recommend It

August 16, 2021 at 08:00AM First of all, let me speak about the elephant in the room. At age 41, I am still young and have healthy skin (thanks to a stringent routine of cleansing, toning, treating, moisturising and sunscreening since age 14), and quite honestly, I feel better in my skin than I ever have. But there’s no denying the collagen depletion and bone loss that comes with age. Yes, that’s right. Apparently, bone mass peaks around ages 25–30 years and declines gradually thereafter in both men and women. Yay!  This is why I started having fillers at around age 37. (You can read my previous articles where I wax lyrical about liquid facials and lip fillers.) Now that I’m entering my 40s, I wanted to try something that didn’t just fill the depleted areas but that actually helped my own body generate its own collagen over time.…

Experts Say Great Skin Is All About Breaking These 6 Beauty Habits

August 16, 2021 at 08:00AM Getting to grips with exactly what sort of beauty practices are right and what are wrong can feel quite overwhelming. 7 Boot Trends the High Street Has Downright Nailed for Autumn

August 16, 2021 at 06:29AM When it comes to boots—actually, all shoes—I always tend to buy them from the high street. Being as hard on shoes as I am (something that, even though I’m an almost 32-year-old adult, my mum still tells me off for), investing in super-premium footwear just isn’t a wise investment for me. Still, I never feel like I’m missing out, as the high street reliably manages to tick off all the biggest trends in swift succession to the runway. As such, I never feel behind. That said, I feel like this autumn, the high street’s lapping the designers with its offering of excellent boots, which have already started to drop.Sya wears a pair of tan track-sole boots from Zara.Yes, it’s still August, and yes, you probably won’t have to think seriously about wearing boots for at least a few more weeks (weather permitting). But…
