Suddenly, Everyone’s Wearing Dresses With Giant Holes in Them

February 07, 2022 at 08:00AM Cut-outs are a trend I’ve always had time for, particularly if they fall on the waist. For me, that is the part of my body I don’t mind highlighting. However, even I found myself double-taking at the latest peekaboo iteration that’s currently in favour with the fashion set—not in a judgemental way by any means, but more awe-stricken curiosity. I love seeing women dressing for themselves, and this is at the centre of the holes-in-dresses trend that’s everywhere lately. Yes, you read that right—holes in dresses. I’m not talking about small details on a neckline or down the sleeve of a jumper. These are cut-outs you could crawl through. I reiterate, holes. Kai Collective is the brand that has cemented this trend through its Añuli dress and Adanna skirt, both of which have become cult pieces on Instagram and TikTok. So…

This Is What the Perfect Skincare Routine Looks Like, and It’s Really Simple

February 07, 2022 at 08:00AM If you started the New Year wanting to be more regimented with your skincare routine, just know that you’re not alone. A new year, after all, marks a time for change and resolution. For many, an effective and considered skincare routine acts as the perfect way to feel pulled-together and in control. The downside to skincare-related New Year’s resolutions, however, is that it is very easy to fall at the first hurdle. You see, we beauty insiders can all too often get caught up in the nuances and forget to address the real…

22 Looks That Prove ‘Curated Blonde’ Is The Coolest Hair Colour of The Moment

February 07, 2022 at 06:30AM As someone that has spent the best part of five years trying to transition my naturally brunette strands into a full head of luscious blonde, trust me when I say I understand the perils of bleach appointments. I have tried full-head highlights, half-head highlights, ombrĂ©, balayage and babylights in an attempt to get the effortlessly blonde hair of my dreams, but alas, I still haven’t quite got there. However, I have every faith that 2022 will be the year that my blonde hair dreams will come true. You see, the thing I have struggled with the most is knowing exactly what to ask for at the salon. With prices usually quotes by technique, it doesn't make it easy for those of us that don’t know what technique is needed. What we do know, is that we want blonde that isn’t blocky, is 3-dimensional and requires minimal fuss. But…

Maxi Skirts Are Back and These 7 Outfit Formulas Make Them Look Chic

February 07, 2022 at 06:06AM Midi hemlines have dominated the skirt scene for years, but times are a-changing. Last year, as the world started to open up again, we saw a meteoric rise—no pun intended—in mini hemlines, as fashion devotees reclaimed glamour and reintroduced impracticality into their wardrobes. But what does the future hold for skirts this year? Well, if the spring/summer 2022 catwalks are anything to go by (spoiler: they are), then maxi hemlines are set to be all the rage. It’s been a while since maxi skirts were on the style agenda, but as Who What Wear UK’s Editor in Chief Hannah Almassi noted in our bumper trend report, “key brands such as Louis Vuitton and Givenchy [are] backing the cut. There is a Y2K lilt to these hemlines descending, with simple tube styles that fit closer to the ankles being more present than,…

I Asked Over 2000 Women Where to Buy the Best White Shirts—They Rate These 14

February 07, 2022 at 06:04AM The term “effortlessly chic” gets thrown around a lot in fashion. In reality, these two words are rarely applicable. What about when it comes to the white shirt? Absolutely. No matter what sort of budget you have or what kind of sense of style, the white shirt is the ultimate wardrobe staple. Is there anything else so simple yet so chic? It’s so easy to wear on the weekend and while working from home. It’s perfect for a night out (when we have them) but also a night in watching Netflix. It’s the ultimate classic to have in one’s arsenal, and whether it’s oversized or fitted, linen or poplin, there are endless ways this classic piece appeals and can be rendered. I’m Picky, But These High-Street Jeans Have Seriously Impressed Me

February 07, 2022 at 06:05AM I’m 32, and it’s only over the last five or so years that I’ve started wearing jeans. The reason? I could never find a pair that I liked and felt confident in (and that adhered to my budget). Instead, my daily wares centred on dresses and skirts. Still, I found myself poring over images of denim street style, impressed by the sheer versatility of jeans, how cool they looked with blazers and heels or with a simple tee and chunky trainers. Eventually, I bit the bullet, and although they weren’t quite right, I bought the closest thing I could find to a pair of vintage jeans on the high street. (I’m yet to find a great vintage pair that actually fits me.) Now, I can’t help but think how easy this process would have been if & Other Stories jeans had…

These Are The Only Hair Diffusers I Recommend For Defined Curls

February 07, 2022 at 06:00AM When I first started experimenting with my natural hair texture, I knew I needed to find myself a good diffuser. My hair is quite low porosity so a lot of it takes ages to dry. Then I noticed when I did let it air-dry it would feel more brittle and frizz quickly compared to when I used heat to set my coils. My hair felt smoother and my style lasted longer when I used a hairdryer with a diffuser attachment to dry my hair. If you’ve noticed that air-drying often has the same impact on your hair as me and you’re on the hunt for the best hair diffusers, I’ve got you covered. One thing that’s key to note when styling with a diffuser, is that I found that part air-drying to about 50% (so damp to touch) and then using a…
