There’s No Fall 2021 Trend Bigger Than Furry-Trimmed Tops and Jackets

October 20, 2021 at 12:53AM Like clockwork, fall has again happened upon us too quickly, cueing a frenzy to curate a new wardrobe for the season at the very last minute. Before we start reaching for those predictable old faithfuls, though, (crewnecks, oversized sweaters and the like), this season actually feels like the perfect time to take advantage of some more playful cool-weather trends. So far, faux fur-trimmed tops and jackets are shaping up to be the season’s It-item, and they come with a number of exciting styling options. A cross between ultraposh and nostalgic, flamboyantly fuzzy details have steadily crept their way up from micro to mega trend status again, thanks to a few key players such as Saks Potts’s instantly recognizable trench coats, and House of Sunny’s signature zip-up cardigans. The trend has since been reimagined every which way, from the…

These Corduroy Overalls Are My New Favorite Fall Outfit Piece, and They’re So Affordable!

October 20, 2021 at 12:45AM Corduroy and fall go together like pumpkin patches and Instagram pictures, ghosts and goblins, and Amazon and last-minute Halloween costume ideas. There’s something special about wearing a cute corduroy outfit when the weather dips below 60 degrees, but finding the perfect look is often harder than coming up with a creative Halloween costume. Since I personally love a one-and-done kind of outfit (I’m already missing summer sundresses), I decided that this fall would be my season of easy outfits, and overalls were going to be my new sundress. After weeks of scouring sites for a pair (FYI, I haven’t worn overalls in years), I checked Old Navy to see if they had options since I’ve gotten more than one of my favorite fall outfit pieces from there this season (um, I’m obsessed with “this shacket). And just as…

Not to Be Dramatic, but This Affordable Old Navy Shacket Is My New Favorite Fall Staple

October 19, 2021 at 07:05PM Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Lauren Harano Let’s be honest, the best thing about fall is the fashion. While sundresses will surely be missed, there’s nothing better than throwing on jeans with a sweater, booties, and a cute jacket. The outfit options are endless, and there are hundreds of ways to style a seasonal jacket - that is, once you’ve found the perfect one. And, lucky for me, I found just that! After nothing more than a quick glance, I knew the Old Navy Soft-Brushed Utility Shacket ($33, originally $65) was about to become part of my fall wardrobe for seasons to come. Dua Lipa’s Denim-on-Denim Look Includes a Butterfly Halter With a Bodice Made of Wings

October 19, 2021 at 06:19PM Dua Lipa, queen of all trends Y2K, is collecting butterfly pieces for her wardrobe left and right. Perhaps it started when she hit the Grammys red carpet in this sparkling, slitted Versace gown back in March, which she then followed up at the afterparty with a chain-mail minidress in the same motif. But these days, her stylist Lorenzo Posocco must be sourcing high and low across the internet, even for Dua’s casual wear. If her one-shoulder butterfly crop top from Masha Popova is not enough to confirm the bug is abuzz, this denim Blumarine set, hailing from the label’s spring/summer 2022 runway, should convince you. The performer and Elton John collaborator outfitted herself in the full catwalk ensemble, metal chain belt and all, accessorized with a Mowalola trucker hat; rimless, lavender translucent lenses; and butterfly earrings that scurried…

The Banana Republic x Charles Harbison Collection Is Finally Here, and It’s Jaw-Dropping!

October 19, 2021 at 06:05PM Harlem’s Fashion Row, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for BIPOC designers, has partnered with Banana Republic to launch a sustainable design competition, and this year’s winner is architect turned fashion designer Charles Harbison. For the New York-based artist, it’s a very momentous announcement. Having worked in the fashion industry for years, Harbison told Yahoo, he had sworn off competitions and vying for money and significance in those platforms. “I had really grown quite disillusioned. I felt that I was overlooked a few times for things that we were quite set up to win. Judges would even come to me to tell me that, and to inform me about politics that were outside of my knowledge that we’re determining a lot of those decisions,” Harbison said. Fast forward to present day, and this win feels like a full-circle…
