Zendaya Wore a Crop Top to the CFDAs

November 11, 2021 at 07:44PM It has to be said: We have been spoiled by Zendaya. Putting aside her pre-Summer 2021 fashion resume, the past few months have been the ultimate ice cream sundae of decadent fashion, with her stylist Law Roach as the pastry chef and TimothĂ©e Chalamet as the cherry on top. So, after being treated to a montage of sickly sweet ensembles, varying from a custom leather gown to a bodice made entirely from chains, expectations for the youngest recipient of the Fashion Icon Award on the 2021 CFDA red carpet were sky-high. She didn’t disappoint. As a nod to what is perhaps her signature silhouette, Zendaya walked the CFDA red carpet in a custom Vera Wang creation, complete with a crop top and avant-garde skirt. Her rumoured boyfriend and Spiderman co-star Tom Holland perhaps says it best when he…

Texture Talk: Caring For Your Scalp While in a Protective Style

November 11, 2021 at 04:21PM Winter is coming, which means the season for protective hairstyles is also upon us. The best part? These styles are set-it-and-forget-it. However, while its relatively easy to maintain these looks, its important to stay on top of daily dirt and build up, especially as you look to remove your style and get your hair back into shape. Here, we show you how to care for your scalp while sporting your favourite protective hairstyle — and ditch dirt for good on the other side. Daily maintenance is key  When polishing up your protective hairstyle on the daily, try to refrain from using gel or other products on the baby hairs around your hairline more than twice a week, and for the days that a little extra care is a must, use a water-based formula whenever possible. The steam from…

Give Lady Gaga Her House of Gucci Oscar Already

November 10, 2021 at 06:36PM All eyes were on Lady Gaga this week at the House of Gucci promo tour in London. Wearing a dress straight off the Gucci Love Parade runway, she embodied the collection’s theme of Hollywood glamour and cinematic madness as she moved through the red carpet, flicking her cascading frock around. Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci is based around the 1995 murder of Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), Guccio Gucci’s grandson and the heir to the fashion house. His ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiano (Lady Gaga), was famously, allegedly, behind the plot to kill him. For the film’s premiere, Gaga opted for a purple pleated gown with a thigh-high slit and a long cape that trailed behind her on the carpet. Styled by Sandra Amador and Tom Eerebou, the look was completed with fishnet stockings, a bedazzled mesh undershirt and some diamond…

This Influencer is Making a Statement with Nail Polish

November 10, 2021 at 02:22PM Anyone who’s familiar with Anthony Urbano’s playful style, bright hair and artsy nails wouldn’t be surprised to find out that his first side hustle was selling sketches of Animaniacs cartoons to his high-school classmates. “I always wanted to do something creative and express myself by making things or showcasing things that I could do,” says the Filipino-American influencer. As a kid growing up in New Jersey, Anthony Urbano was book smart and great at math — but he also loved creating his own building projects out of Lego and watching HGTV for interior inspiration. His dad often drove him into New York City, where he was captivated by sleek buildings made from concrete and steel. “I would marvel at the science and the engineering behind them,” he recalls. These Celebs Are Making a Case For Colour In the Fall

November 10, 2021 at 12:03AM Many of us tend to gravitate towards a neutral wardrobe this time of year, opting for toasty browns, cozy greys and classic black as we bid farewell to summer —but some of our favourite celebrity street style looks have broken all the fall fashion rules, as the stars trade in these classic colours for more vivid hues. Last week, Rihanna hit the streets of NYC in a lime green statement coat by Marina Moscone paired with her very own chartreuse Savage x Fenty ‘Caged Lace Jersey Gloves.’ It had all the makings of a true-to-form fall ensemble: a long wool coat, wide-leg pants and seasonal gloves — but with an unorthodox element of colour that just works. The Travis Scott Astroworld Tragedy is Sparking Calls to Abolish Celebrity Culture

November 09, 2021 at 01:08PM Travis Scott and Drake are reportedly facing multiple lawsuits after eight people were killed and scores more injured in a crowd surge at Scott’s Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas. As we’ve all come to learn, the event descended into chaos on November 5 when the crowd pushed toward the stage during Scott’s set, the pressure leaving some attendees unable to breathe, witnesses say. “The crowd, for whatever reason, began to push and surge towards the front of the stage, which caused the people in the front to be compressed — they were unable to escape that situation,” Houston fire chief Sam Peña told CNN. Those who died range from the ages of 27 to 14 years old. Of the roughly 50,000 people that attended the show, 25 were hospitalized, the youngest patient just 10 years old, as reported…

Roxy Earle is Over the Plus-Size Label

November 08, 2021 at 05:51PM Roxy Earle’s ethos is quite simple: “Everything that I work towards is about making women feel good in their mind, body and soul.” It’s what’s driven her success on the short-lived Real Housewives of Toronto, as she became a fan-favourite for not conforming to reality TV’s unspoken size zero mandate. It’s what’s led to the creation of the #MySizeRox social media community, where women of all ages and sizes share body positive messages and photos. And it’s now fueled the eight-piece Roxy Earle Joe Fresh holiday collection, which goes up to 3X sizing and includes flutter-sleeve sweaters, sequinned skirts and dresses, and extra wide boots. “I know what it feels like to be that girl in the change room, and you can’t find anything that fits, let alone something that looks good,” says Earle over video chat. “It’s just…
