Fashion is Setting Foot in the Metaverse

December 06, 2021 at 08:22PM As the digital and physical worlds continue to converge, the new age of the internet — the “metaverse” — is transforming the fashion industry. One luxury house fronting the shift is Balenciaga. The brand (known to embrace virtual clothing) recently announced plans to launch a business unit specifically dedicated to exploring opportunities in the metaverse. Balenciaga released its Fall 2021 collection through a gaming app and famously partnered with the video game Fortnite to create a series of “skins” for the game’s characters. December 01, 2021 at 10:09PM Machine Gun Kelly is getting into the nail polish game. The musician (and boyfriend to Megan Fox) is set to launch his own gender-neutral nail polish line, UN/DN LAQR. Available online December 2, the brand will offer 10 shades from neutrals to bright colours, with one black lacquer aptly named “Depressionist.” Each polish will cost $23, with trios going for $67 and kits of six being sold at $110.
