A Boa Scarf Made Out of $100 Bills? You Know What They Say . . . Leave It to Gaga

October 13, 2021 at 05:43PM Lady Gaga headed back to Las Vegas to continue her residency on a private plane, as one does. After spending time filming House of Gucci and making several appearances to promote her new album Love For Sale alongside Tony Bennett, she clearly has reason to celebrate. Let’s just say Gaga appeared to be on cloud nine, or, um, cloud 900,000 if you count up the $100 bills that make up her kitschy cash boa scarf. It’s an item we’re not surprised she’s worked into her outfit, and one you, too, can readily shop on Amazon. But Gaga’s full look came complete with all the high-end, luxury essentials: a Magda Butrym polka-dot dress with detailed ruching and ruffles - how very ‘80s! - cat-eye Valentino sunglasses, and an Hermès Kelly bag in hot pink. “Back to Vegas baby with…

The Colors That Dominated the Fall 2021 Runways Are Here

October 13, 2021 at 05:32PM To put it plainly, last season’s collections were cautiously optimistic. Designers stuck to basic silhouettes and a serene color palette of soothing powder blues, sage greens, and mellow corals for the most part. The result was like the Calm app in clothing form: a comforting sartorial message of hope amid a (very) turbulent year. And for the fall/winter 2021 season, that hope remains a constant with classic, muted shades like soft grays (as chic suiting at Vetements) and frosty pale pinks (as a bejeweled dress at Erdem). But the most startling difference this go-around is the blatant, unadulterated joy in the pieces, which manifested in bolts of brilliant yellows, fiery reds, and fuchsia - colors so fiercely bold and feminine, they could almost be seen as an affront to the sweats we’ve been living in for the past…

It Might’ve Been Cardi B’s Party, but Lizzo Stole the Show in This Sheer Fishnet Number

October 13, 2021 at 05:25PM The rumors are true - Lizzo stepped out in a totally sheer fishnet dress that’s easily the sexiest thing we’ve seen her wear. For Cardi B’s star-studded birthday party in Los Angeles on Monday evening, which had a dancehall theme, the “Truth Hurts” singer chose a custom floor-length iridescent number from Matthew Reisman Collection, styled by Jason Rembert. The shimmery purple gown, which she paired with a butt-length ponytail and sparkly butterfly clips, gave a peek at her thong and pasties underneath. We’ve seen many iterations of the naked dress on red carpets and at events recently, but Lizzo takes the trend to a whole other level. Though paparazzi shots show the artist completely barefoot under her dress, she later revealed on Instagram, “I wore Jimmy Choos for the record,” alongside various photos of the glittery look. Ahead,…

BTS Auction Off Their Louis Vuitton Grammys Suits For a Cause, and J-Hope Throws in His Rings!

October 13, 2021 at 04:24PM BTS wore Louis Vuitton to perform their Grammy-nominated hit “Dynamite” after being announced as brand ambassadors for the luxury label. The K-pop band went on to walk the menswear runway in Seoul and are now using their LV wardrobes as a reason to give back as part of the MusiCares Charity Relief Auction hosted by Julien’s Auctions. Estimated to sell for between $30,000 to $50,000, the white, gold, orange, and black suits coordinated well with the similarly toned looks BTS wore on the red carpet and telecast that evening (pictured above). You might remember that BTS participated in the MusiCares auction last year, too, offering up their pastel clothing from the “Dynamite” music video. But this time, BTS member J-Hope is reportedly topping off the donation with some jewelry - the three rings he wore during the Grammys…

Brooke Lynn Hytes: “Expect Some Legendary Looks From Canada’s Drag Race Season Two.”

October 12, 2021 at 09:33PM Brooke Lynn Hytes is very Canadian — almost to a fault. As the host and judge on Canada’s Drag Race season two  — which premieres October 14 on Crave — being judgemental is quite literally her job. While many in and out of drag already read people for free (see: all of social media), being paid to critique contestants seems like a dream job. And don’t get her wrong, it is Brooke Lynn’s dream job, but sometimes her “Canadian-ness” gets in the way. “We’re not naturally judgemental people,” she says over the phone. “Well, we actually are, but we have this politeness in us that thinks, ‘How do I say this nicely?‘” View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Brooke Lynn Hytes (@bhytes) The runner-up on season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the “Queen of…

Naomi Campbell Closes Alexander McQueen’s Secret Spring/Summer 2022 Show

October 13, 2021 at 02:31PM Hosted at London’s Tobacco Dock on Tuesday Oct. 12, Alexander McQueen showed its spring/summer 2022 womenswear collection one month after London Fashion Week. The off-schedule event previewed deconstructed suiting and layers of jeweled details, with Naomi Campbell closing the show and an A-list front row. Actors Emilia Clarke, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and singer Lianna La Havas supported McQueen’s 2022 collection from the front row, with fashion insiders like Caroline Rush, Tiffany Hsu, and Elizabeth Von Der Goltz also in attendance. Standout designs included a leather bustier fitted over a denim dress that was modeled by Jill Kortleve, and a jewel-covered black blazer paired with jewel-covered black tights, which was the most talked-about look of the collection. Chosen fabrics like leather and denim were somewhat restricting, while a focus on suiting signaled a return to the office, tie-dyed pieces…

No One Will Believe These 3 River Island Coats Are River Island

October 13, 2021 at 12:50PM When I say the words River Island you might think of all things glam, however recently the brand has been shifting its aesthetic towards a more pared-back look. It is now establishing itself as a go-to for everyday staples with a fashion edge, and it is the selection of jackets and coats that I’ve been most impressed by. The River Island Studio line is one of our favourite places on the high street for elevated, but interesting design, with more directional silhouettes. We love the whole edit, however there were are jackets and coats in particular that really stood our to our team, and so myself and Shopping Editor Joy had to try them on in real life. There’s the most amazing checked borg coat, a green quilted boxy jacket which is yo-yoing in and out of stock and…
