These 10 Colour Correctors Practically Magic Away Dark Circles

October 31, 2021 at 06:00AM If you’ve ever dealt with dark circles under your eyes, you know the struggle is real. It’s hard to mask the darkness in a way that looks natural and flawless. The trick here, though, is to find the right product—and that’s where colour correctors come in.“When you don’t want to cake on concealer to cover dark circles, colour correcting will be your best friend,” explains makeup artist and groomer Janice Kinjo, whose clients include Mindy Kaling, Uzo Aduba and Gabrielle Union. “It is a way to instantly neutralise discolouration, dark circles, and blemish marks underneath your foundation/concealer.”You might think that colour correctors and concealers are one and the same (I used to think they were interchangeable), but they’re two very different products. “Concealers are significantly different than colour correctors,” says makeup artist Gina Brooke, whose clients include Cate Blanchett,…

Big brands don’t have a monopoly over the landscape, as many customers want to invest in original design and lesser-known styles.  Sadly, many of these labels have been hit by the global pandemic, and as a publication, we’re doing our very best to support the talent we love in any way possible. That’s why we’ve dedicated our end-of-month shopping gallery to these independent brands. Honestly, we were spoilt for choice, and we wish we could include every brand we came across online (although, that would turn into a long article), but we managed to whittle it down…

I Challenged Myself to Ditch My Skinny Jeans, and Old Navy Came Through With These $45 Pants

October 30, 2021 at 05:30PM Call me old-fashioned, but I’m a skinny jeans girl at heart, so the variety in my denim collection is lacking, to say the least. When the skinny jeans debate broke out on social media, it was easy to pick a side, but I’ve since given into temptation and (hesitantly) purchased my first pair of wide-leg jeans since middle school. To ease myself into the trend, I went with this pair of Extra High-Waisted Medium-Wash Cut-Off Wide-Leg Jeans ($45) from Old Navy. High-waisted pants are my best friend, so I figured they’d balance out the fear I had about tumbling down the sidewalk because of all the extra fabric around my ankles. After wearing them for a week, the verdict is in, and I’m only a little bit mad that I love them. When I first slid into the…

NFTs Are Fashion’s Newest Collectibles

October 30, 2021 at 02:05PM By now you’ve probably heard the term NFT, but maybe you’re not entirely sure what it’s all about? Or what those three letters even stand for? NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are a kind of digital contract that verifies ownership of something. NFTs can be “attached” to digital assets like art or fashion, and allow them to be sold or transferred. When NFTs are sold, the creator of that asset receives commissions from every sale, creating a new marketplace for brands and artists to make money off of their digital designs. (In some cases a lot of it.) In March, a piece of digital artwork by Beeple was sold at Christie’s in an online auction for a whopping $69.3 million. Luxury design houses quickly took notice of the potential of NFTs, and in the past few months Gucci auctioned…

Kendall and Katie Have the Same High-Street Shoes and My Full Attention

October 30, 2021 at 06:09AM We’re at that in-between stage when summer’s most reliable shoes are well and truly redundant (so long, Tevas!) but there are days when a snug pair of boots feels a little OTT. What’s the solution? Well, just ask Kendall Jenner and Katie Holmes for autumnal fashion advice because they have both landed on the same pair of high-street flats and seem pretty pleased about it. Vagabond, in case you don’t know already, is a Swedish shoe label that specialises in trend-hitting silhouettes that influencers and celebrities gravitate towards because more often than not they’re super practical and low-key. Chunky flats—whether loafer, brogue or boot—are their signature, but it’s one particular pair, called the Cosmo 2.0, that has proven to be the biggest hit. And when you realise that this elite crowd is side-stepping their more expensive options in favour of a ÂŁ110 pair…

9 Outfits That Prove Everyone Needs a Pair of Knee-High Boots This Season

October 30, 2021 at 06:03AM For the longest time, I only had eyes for block-heel ankle boots; no other boot style got a look in. However, a few years ago, I invested in the first knee-high boots I’d had since my teens, and they were a game changer. Aside from jeans, I very rarely wear trousers. Nine times out of 10, you’ll catch me wearing a midi dress. And after years of enduring chilly calves and not-quite-right hemlines and boot heights, knee boots swooped in and made every outfit (read: dress) I wore so much chicer and more put-together.Fast-forward to 2021, and I currently have four pairs of knee-high boots in my footwear rotation: an on-trend chunky pair from M&S, which I bought as soon as I saw them on editor Emma Spedding; a beige suede option from SĂŠzane, which I invested in hoping it would make…
