Rihanna Is Stepping Down as CEO of Savage X Fenty

Rihanna is stepping down as CEO of Savage X Fenty. The lingerie behemoth will now be led by Hillary Super, the former CEO of Anthropologie Group, the company announced on June 23. Fans need not worry – the superstar and style mogul will still serve in a leadership capacity as executive chair and most likely will continue on as the face of the brand and the star of its highly-anticipated fashion shows.
“It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years,” Savage X Fenty said in a statement. “This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer.” About Super’s new position at the helm, Rihanna added: “I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO – she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level.”
Since Rihanna founded the brand in 2018, Savage X Fenty has become an industry-disrupting leader in the lingerie space. Her commitment to inclusivity was unparalleled, enlisting a diverse cast for Savage X Fenty’s fashion shows as well as its ad campaigns. The brand’s offerings also catered to a myriad of shoppers, from its Pride collection to its plus-size activewear line. At every turn, Rihanna invited people of different races, sizes, ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, and abilities to participate in intimate fashion and define sexiness on their own terms. No doubt this legacy will continue with Super at the helm, whose resume includes positions at Guess and American Eagle, in addition to her former CEO role at Anthropologie Group.
