Found: The Perfect Little Black Dress- and It’s Only $35

December 20, 2021 at 08:00PM When the holiday season rolls around, I always find myself scrambling at the last minute to get my outfits together. However, this year I decided to start shopping at some of my favorite retailers early. I’ve recently become a big Old Navy fan, because I’ve found a ton of cute options on their site, like a sherpa sweater I’m absolutely obsessed with, and a packable zip-up jacket that I’ve been wearing nonstop. I decided to browse Old Navy in search of a holiday dress, and I’m so glad I did. I ended up finding this Long-Sleeve Poet Mini Swing Dress ($35), and it’s been the perfect addition to my wardrobe. When I first opened the package containing my dress, I immediately knew I was going to be obsessed because the dress was so soft. It’s made from 100%…

Trust Me, These Under-$30 Frames Are So Much More Than a Cute Accessory

December 20, 2021 at 07:40PM As a freelance journalist, I spend all day in front of my computer. (Psst … when I say all day, I mean it! I am usually online before the sun comes up and close my laptop shortly before bedtime.) But, as much as I love my job, I have to admit that spending so much time in front of the screen can give me a big headache … or make my eyes feel super strained … or make it hard for me to wind down after a long workday. There are a lot of measures I take to stay in top shape during the workweek: I go for walks outside, drink plenty of water, and exercise regularly. But, my favorite? These Peepers by PeeperSpecs Oversized Blue Light Filtering Reading Glasses ($26, originally $27). There’s a reason why Peepers…

Jaden and Jada Pinkett Smith Showed Up to The Matrix Premiere in Some Very On-Theme Outfits

December 20, 2021 at 05:14PM Want to see the picture-perfect definition of understanding the (fashion) assignment? Look no further than Jaden and Jada Pinkett Smith at The Matrix Resurrections premiere. While attending a screening in San Francisco on Saturday, the mother-son duo walked the green carpet dressed to the nines in outfits that were very on-theme for the sci-fi film, which stars Jada as Niobe. Styled by Georgia Medley, Jada wore a red strapless Giambattista Valli gown with a voluminous train and matching stockings, seemingly as a nod to the famous red pill vs. blue pill decision featured in The Matrix franchise. She accessorized with Swarovski jewelry and red lace-up Flor de Maria heels. Meanwhile, Jaden followed in his mom’s stylish footsteps by wearing a long black coat reminiscent of the one made famous by Laurence Fishburne’s Morpheus, layered under a trippy puffer…

Priyanka Chopra’s Red Carpet Dress Is a Magnificent Ode to Her Character in The Matrix

December 20, 2021 at 05:07PM Priyanka Chopra works with stylist and Image Architect Law Roach, so it’s not exactly surprising that her red carpet looks are paved with so much meaning. Law, who has coordinated many a style homage specifically with his client Zendaya in the past, helped Chopra channel her character from The Matrix: Resurrections at the premiere in San Francisco, CA on Dec. 18. The colors in Sati’s costume on the movie poster directly correlate to those used in Priyanka’s custom Halpern dress, which featured multicolor sequins, a thigh-high leg slit, and fan-like, orange accordion pleating that swept across the bodice. Priyanka even had the perfect Christian Louboutin pumps to match, along with jewels that added to her glow from Bulgari. “What a night! The Matrix premiere! Also @luxurylaw brought it! The colors of my dress are an ode to my…

This Toronto-based Advocate Wore the 52-foot Amsterdam Rainbow Dress

December 20, 2021 at 05:08PM This is not your average 52-foot-long gown. But really, can any 52-foot-long gown ever be classified as average? The Amsterdam Rainbow Dress is undoubtedly the coolest and most poignant example of flag-based apparel that the world has ever seen. Created in The Netherlands by Mattijs van Bergen, Arnout van Krimpen, Jochem Kaan and Oeri van WoezikIn, the gown was initially designed for EuroPride 2016 but has since blossomed into so much more than a parade costume. While wearable patriotism is once again trending in the wake of February’s Winter Olympics, don’t confuse this symbol of activism for a pair of maple leaf mittens. The stunningly extravagant ensemble is a wearable collage of the flags of 71 countries (77 in 2016) where homosexuality is punishable by law, including eight where homosexual acts can result in the death penalty. Once…

The singer-songwriter attended a party with her boyfriend, writer Cole Schafer, and wore an HVN frock made to stand out at any soirée. The Ashley minidress retails for $475 and shined even brighter teamed up with a pair of Mach & Mach bow pumps, thanks to her stylist Erica Cloud. Carrie-Anne Moss’s Custom Matrix-Code Gown Is a Heavy Dose of Haute Couture and Hi-Tech

December 20, 2021 at 02:10PM Carrie-Anne Moss arrived at The Matrix: Resurrections premiere in California and assumed the role of best dressed on the red carpet with ease. Known forever in our hearts as her character Trinity, Moss wore an Oscar de la Renta Couture gown to debut the fourth installment of The Matrix film series. Moss’s dress had us immediately mesmerized. The black gown featured Hellenistic-inspired draping, ruching, and caped sleeves. With a plunging neckline and a cinched waist, the custom dress boasted silver and green sequin embroidery that started at the hemline and moved upwards, as inspired by the movie’s signature Matrix code. Within the code itself, and if you’re able to zoom in close enough, you’ll find that that the name of the maison “Oscar de la Renta” is delicately embroidered throughout the Matrix-code sequins. Moss completed her outfit with…
