I’m Heading Home For the Holidays, and This Old Navy Jumpsuit Is the Only Outfit I’m Packing

December 21, 2021 at 06:30PM I’m not exaggerating here: Other than what I’m wearing on the train, this Old Navy jumpsuit is the only clothing item packed in my small suitcase to head upstate for Christmas. After all, my bag’s already chock full of presents (plus my dog’s essentials), and I’m only planning to lounge at home with my parents anyway. First off, the French terry fabric is a perfect in-between weight to wear solo (or under the cardigan I’ll wear on my ride up). It pairs well with both boots and cozy slippers, and looks just as nice at…

Matrix star Jessica Henwick On the Style Trend She’d Resurrect

December 21, 2021 at 04:00PM There’s no shortage of gratuitous reboots and revivals, but our imminent return to The Matrix actually makes sense. Even after the first film dropped in 1999, the dystopian cyberpunk aesthetic that The Matrix encapsulated is still a major style touchpoint decades later. Exhibit A? The outfit that the trilogy’s heroine Trinity (Carrie Anne Moss) wears throughout the series — a sharp bob paired with futuristic black shades and a leather trench coat — has proven to be eternally chic. In fact, when I rewatched the original three films before my early screening of the series’ fourth installment last week, one of my biggest takeaways was that I would wear literally everything on screen. Wouldn’t you? I had the same thought after watching The Matrix Resurrections, but the new stylish scene-stealer is Game of Thrones alum Jessica Henwick, who…

I Predict That in 2022 Everyone Will Dress Like It’s 2002

December 21, 2021 at 08:00AM Each season as fashion month begins, editors, influencers and fashion enthusiasts are bombarded with new-season styles. With four separate cities putting on events and several shows each day, there’s a veritable banquet of looks and designers to keep track of. And while newness is, of course, the name of the game, this season, I found myself experiencing a recurring sense of dĂ©jĂ  vu.In New York, Milan and Paris, several designers and brands sent looks down the runway which felt oddly familiar, immediately conjuring up nostalgia for the early 2000s. Cargo trousers (yes, cargo trousers!) were back on the agenda at Tom Ford, validating the questionable fashion choices I made as a…
