Euphoria is Making the Case For Country Star Fashion

January 24, 2022 at 08:24PM All Euphoria viewers are probably thinking the same thing right now: Cassie, girl, what are you doing? When HBO dropped the trailer for the second season of its acclaimed teenage drama late last year, one scene in particular piqued viewers’ interest as Cassie Howard (played by FASHION cover star Sydney Sweeney) tearfully screamed at her friends in the East Highland High bathroom, “You guys can all judge me if you want but I do not care. I have never, ever been happier!” And after the most recent episode of Euphoria aired on January 23, we found out exactly why she was so emotional (spoilers ahead!). To start, Cassie had her share of bad luck in bathrooms this season. For the better part of episode one, she was hiding in a bathtub at a party, hoping no one would realize…

Meet My New Going-Out Staple For Winter: A Black Offset Shoulder Top

January 24, 2022 at 08:05PM To be honest, I don’t think I own any “going out tops” anymore. But if you asked me this question five years ago, I’d reference my drawer of crop tops I heavily relied on for college parties and bar-hopping events. I used to adore my drawer of one-size-too-small crop tops, they made me feel confident, sexy, and dare I say … hot? These days my tops are all-encompassing; a shirt I can wear to lunch with the girls and to a cool bar at night is my speed. I’ve enjoyed it this way, or at least I thought I did until I ordered KOTN’s Offset Shoulder Top ($24, originally $48). It was a spur-of-the-moment decision, but I’m happy I picked up this asymmetrical long-sleeve going out top. I tried it on I soon as I received it and…

Schiaparelli’s Couture Is For the Boldest in Hollywood

January 24, 2022 at 07:55PM Daniel Roseberry’s Schiaparelli collection has the fashion world buzzing about the return of Couture. Roseberry, who was appointed creative director in 20219, sent a black-and-white galactic-inspired lineup down the spring 2022 runway. Dresses were cut in sharp silhouettes and finished with gilded headpieces; a bustier made of twisted metal and paired with an expertly cut liquid white skirt was a subtle standout; while drama by way of oversize jewels, embellishments, hoods, and collars dominated the looks. It’s more is more, albeit with fine-tuned artistry, even restraint, when it comes to color palette and carefully constructed proportions. It’s both forward thinking and nostalgic - biker-like shorts or a black sheath that looks like something Princess Diana might have worn, if not covered in oversize gold embellishments or cut to show so much skin. That’s the beauty of it; familiar,…

Schiaparelli’s Spring 2022 Couture Collection Will Be Everywhere This Awards Season

January 24, 2022 at 07:42PM Only at Schiaparelli can a black dress with gold Saturn-like rings look understated. I mean, compared to this look Cardi B wore to the American Music Awards in November, the Schiaparelli Spring 2022 couture collection is downright casual. But this back-to-basics (so to speak) is precisely what creative director Daniel Roseberry intended. Photography via ImaxTree.comIn his show notes, the designer described his Fall 2021 couture show (which debuted this past summer) as a collection of hope. Think surrealist colour and pattern explosions. The show that premiered today was designed to be the exact opposite. Roseberry notes it’s a presentation about loss. Well, loss and aliens. “Suddenly, colour felt wrong to me. So, did volume. All of the tricks that couture designers (including me) use to communicate grandeur and craftsmanship — big silhouettes, glorious poufs of fabric, huge volume…

A Look Back at Thierry Mugler’s Best Creations

January 24, 2022 at 07:36PM Manfred Thierry Mugler never really played it safe. The French designer, who died January 23 at age 73, opened his eponymous Paris boutique in 1978. At that time, he had already worked for several designers and created his own collection, CafĂ© de Paris. In the ‘80s and ‘90s, Mugler’s popularity grew as his penchant for sultry futurism, hyper-feminine glamour (think broad shoulders and cinched waists with a distinctly sci-fi feel) and theatrics that bordered on drag rewrote the traditional catwalk. His space age era would later give way to otherworldly creations that were inspired by aquatica and vampirism, and would be worn by a diverse cast of models that included porn stars, drag queens and fashion It Girls of the era like Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista. As his stature grew, Mugler’s designs were worn by celebrities like…

So Many Editors Want This Expensive-Looking High-Street Jacket

January 24, 2022 at 12:39PM If there were a prize for the jacket trend that has been given the most airtime over the last two years, it would have to go to the blazer. As someone who has around five currently sitting in my wardrobe, I can attest to its versatility, timelessness and easiness. With its boxy fit and premium-feel fabric, my Arket wool blazer is a personal highlight, and it seems as though I am not alone in my love for this particular piece, as I’ve spotted it on countless fashionable faces on Instagram.Coming in a handful of cool colourways—black, navy, beige, burgundy, chocolate brown and an unexpected shot of pink—this blazer has certainly earned its reputation for being a classic wardrobe staple. A popular styling hack is to add it to jeans and a tee, but I have also seen it worn with colour-match trousers for a polished suit…

Kate Middleton Wore My Fave Expensive-Looking Trend (No Royal Budget Necessary)

January 24, 2022 at 11:10AM Try as she might, no amount of Zara jumpers and Accessorize earrings could make Kate Middleton actually seem relatable—no offense, duchess. It’s just that a royal-sized budget, jewel-encrusted tiaras, and worldwide fame is a tad out of reach for the average person. That said, you certainly don’t need to spend big bucks to recreate many of the Duchess of Cambridge’s outfits, including her most recent one.Middleton was photographed with Prince William at an event for Church on the Street, a charity that aims to lift people out of poverty. For the occasion, she wore a Massimo Dutti coat, Iris & Ink jumper, and skirt, and Missoma earrings. Her camel coat, in particular, stood out because it’s such an expensive-looking trend that will make you look polished and stylish without any effort at all.
