These Colour Combinations Will Make You Look Expensive Every Time

February 23, 2022 at 08:00AM You know we’re big supporters of a top-to-toe tonal look. It’s a sure fire way to look put-together, whether you’re sporting a chic co-ord or different shades of cream and white, for example. But that doesn’t mean you can’t look equally as premium in an array of colours. In fact, because it’s often more difficult to put together and pull off colour, if you get it right the results can be even more impressive. The hard part is knowing which colours work together and which ones, well, don’t. Unfortunately, the rules don’t always make sense which makes figuring out the right colour pairings even harder. Just think about that traditional adage ‘pink and green should never be seen’, and we all know that’s not true. Usually there’s just ‘something’ about it that works when you put on a winning colour…

These 12 Affordable Perfumes Smell Really Expensive

February 23, 2022 at 08:00AM I always knew that I liked perfume, but it wasn’t until my last house move when my fragrances required an entire packing box that I realised how much I truly love it. Sure, I was able to part with a couple out-of-date bottles, but most of my stash felt too precious to cull. The thing about perfume is that it’s so personal. Scent is linked so closely to memory that even if you’ve only worn a fragrance a few times, you can evoke a past time and place with just one spritz. The problem? Perfume is expensive. Of all the products I’ve collected over the years, my fragrances are worth the most, and unfortunately, I have expensive taste in scents. Byredo, Tom Ford, Maison Margiela… Most of my favourite perfume brands will set you back around ÂŁ100 for a bottle. Trust…

What to Never Wear on a Plane, From a Flight Attendant

February 23, 2022 at 08:00AM Despite how much we admire celebrity airport style, it’s not always so easy to figure out what you should wear on a plane when push comes to shove, especially now that many of us have put our travel plans on pause for a while. Stilettos and high-waisted leather pants look great in paparazzi shots of stars strutting through airport terminals, yet in action, these statement-making ensembles can prove a bit trickier. And though we’d all love to look our best when hitting the skies, certain wardrobe pieces are best left in a checked bag or carry-on. Who better to inform us of what to never wear on a plane than someone who works at 35,000 feet? We reached out to American Airlines flight attendant Andrea Fischbach to spill her list of things you shouldn’t wear when flying for the sake…

If You’re a Fan of Le Labo Santal 33, You’ll Love These Perfumes Just as Much

February 23, 2022 at 06:30AM There’s no doubt that Le Labo’s widely adored fragrance Santal 33 is one of the most defining scents of the last decade. From Alexa Chung to Justin Bieber, some of the most iconic celebrities have professed their love for the unisex scent. And in all honesty, I’d go as far as to say that it was Santal 33 that put unisex fragrances back on the map. Before it, the offering of unisex scents didn’t stretch far beyond Calvin Klein’s CK One. Nowadays, however, if a new fragrance launch doesn’t work for men just as well as it does women, we don’t want to hear about it.It’s true that more ‘traditionally’ male fragrances are having a moment (although we believe there really is no place for gender in fragrance marketing), but it was Santal 33’s unique and unrivalled freshness that made many realise that life didn’t have…

I’ve Tried Countless Moisturisers, But I Always Come Back to This Cult Cream

February 23, 2022 at 06:30AM When it comes to curating my beauty bag, I don’t tend to invest blindly in a singular brand. Having spent years trialling and testing the latest beauty launches, I’ve assembled quite the diverse collection of products from an extensive array of labels, to which I remain faithful. That is until I happen upon something that impresses me more. And lately, I find myself switching out many of my go-to products for options from one particular brand: Charlotte Tilbury. My inaugural Charlotte Tilbury purchases were, somewhat unsurprisingly, its cult Pillow Talk lipstick and liner. The colour payoff and delicate formula were unlike any other lipstick and liners I’d tried. And honestly, along with a few other essential Charlotte Tilbury shades, I haven’t allowed anything else to touch my lips since. My interest piqued, I then moved on to Charlotte Tilbury’s Beauty…

I Walked 20,000 Steps In These Heels—and Didn’t Get One Blister

February 23, 2022 at 06:00AM I am not a high heels person and my feet are basically like tissue paper, meaning that I can’t help but roll my eyes whenever anyone tells me any shoes are comfortable, let alone heels. It usually takes me weeks to wear in a new pair of shoes, and so I was prepared for the worst when I attempted to wear some new platform heels. This year stacked, chunky platforms have made a comeback, and so I tried a velvet pair of sandals by Russell and Bromley. The heel is approximately 8.5cm, but they feel really solid to walk in thanks to the 3cm platform. The first time I wore them I lasted seven hours, and so in the ultimate test wore them for two full days of shows for London Fashion Week. I walked 20,000 steps in the heels,…
