Victoria Beckham Basically Wore a Wedding Dress to Her Friend’s Wedding

February 26, 2022 at 06:16AM Generally, I don’t subscribe to fashion “rules”—I’m more of a “if you like it, then wear it” sort of fashion editor— but there is one I stand by: Never wear white to a wedding. I’ve been to so many weddings in my time, I’m being a wedding guest could pass for my side hustle. And you’d be surprised at how many people commit this faux pas. Sure, you can always clear it with the bride first—I know, from firsthand experience, that some aren’t phased with guests wearing white—but that doesn’t mean everyone else in attendance knows you’ve been granted permission. With the inevitable side-eye you can receive from less-liberal guests, wearing white to a wedding is something I suggest you avoid. Victoria Beckham stands for a photograph with Anders Christian Madsen and Christine Centenera before setting off for the wedding of Edward…

7 Influencers Share Their Chic Spring Wish Lists

February 26, 2022 at 06:09AM As an editor, it’s my job to be impartial about the fashion I showcase to you. Not everything is necessarily something I would personally wear—I’ve been trained to look beyond that; to instead seek out impressive finds that’ll work for different people and styles. This is perhaps the biggest difference between editors and influencers—a question I’m commonly asked—in that influencers present pieces that are a true representation of themselves. In turn, this makes them so fascinating to follow; find an influencer whose style you love and speaks to your own, and you’ve struck sartorial gold. They become something of your own personal shopper and make it incredibly easy to build upon your existing wardrobe by spotlighting options you’re probably going to like. And for that, we owe them a depth of gratitude. As such, I’m always keen to learn…

As the evenings get slightly lighter and the idea of as fresco brunch without a coat creeps closer, I can’t help but count down the days until the clocks go forward. And something else I can’t stop thinking about is new additions to my spring wardrobe. You know, a fresh blazer that’ll elevate any pair of straight-leg jeans, a dress that makes you want to book a holiday and new sandals to start the phasing out of socks and boots. Although I have many wish lists as long as my arm on multiple site, the three brands that have actually made me transfer items to my basket are Cos, & Other Stories and Mango.Heroes on the high street, this trio never fails to impress me. Cos is of course stocked full…

22 Very Old Trends I’m Still Wearing Today

February 26, 2022 at 06:05AM I’m a huge fan of ‘70s fashion—the era created a host of trends that still stand up today, whether you realise they’re from that time or not. Think of our current obsession with bright over-the-knee boots, folk-inspired printed dresses, velvet and corduroy, boho blouses, midi skirts and so on. While the '70s sweep over the runways every couple of seasons, there’s always a hint of it on the streets if you look closely.Think of the iconic designer names that were indelibly marked into history during this decade, like Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld and Diane von Furstenberg. Also, during this period, mass-market, trend-driven fashion was more readily available. Barbara Hulanicki’s Biba kick-started the idea in London a decade earlier, alongside boutiques such as Bus Stop, and cool, connected girls were able to switch up their looks more readily, which likely led…

The “Cyrano” Costume Designer on Creating the Film’s Beautiful Looks

February 26, 2022 at 12:00AM Image Source: Everett Collection For costume designer Massimo Cantini Parrini, helping to remake the classic “Cyrano” story into a sweeping movie musical presented a formidable challenge. If creating hundreds of romantic, era-appropriate costumes for the cast to dance and sword-fight in wasn’t chaotic enough, he also had to do it during a global pandemic. “It was very difficult,” Parrini tells POPSUGAR. “I only had one month of preproduction for this film, but thanks to God, I kept making the costumes in the workshop I opened in Sicily during the whole shoot. We sewed until the last day and created about 750 new costumes made exclusively for this wonderful film.” The effort was, of course, worth it - and not just because the film’s costumes have been nominated for an Oscar. “Cyrano,” starring Emmy award-winning actor Peter Dinklage and…
