Anne Hathaway’s Rainbow Polka Dot Look Teases a New Style Direction

March 16, 2022 at 07:41PM Anne Hathaway may be playing an egotistical businesswoman on screen, but in real life, she’s sparking joy. While promoting her new Apple TV+ series, “WeCrashed,” Hathaway made a stop at “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday evening. For the appearance, Hathaway wore colorful polka dots from head-to-toe in a three-piece Christopher John Rogers ensemble and a mini La Medusa bag from Versace. With the help of stylist Erin Walsh, she paired a bustier top with wide-legged trousers and an oversized blazer, all in the same gradient dot jacquard print from the designer’s fall 2021 collection, Collection 008. The line - and Hathaway’s bright outfit - exemplifies Rogers’s signature playfulness and graphism. “Let the clothes bring you JOY guys!,” Walsh wrote on Instagram alongside photos of Hathaway. “Love that fashion can do that.” Featuring fresh shades of…

What Will Our Lives Look Like in 2050?

March 16, 2022 at 06:21PM What will we be wearing in 20 or 30 years if we don’t solve the climate crisis? That is the question we tackled for FASHION’s April issue — not to worry us all even more than we already are but to jolt us into realizing how critical change is. We asked fashion and beauty experts for predictions of about a sustainable future, and what life could look like down the road if things don’t improve. The fascinating responses range from hopeful to terrifying. Alexander McQueen Returns to New York, Drawing a Star-Studded Crowd

March 16, 2022 at 06:15PM A fashionable cadre of stars joined Creative Director Sarah Burton on Mar 15, welcoming the return of Alexander McQueen to New York City for the fall 2022 runway show. The event, held at Brooklyn Navy Yard, saw the reunion of “Black Panther” stars Letitia Wright and Danai Gurira who both wore black for the occasion. Wright, dressed in a glossy midi leather skirt styled under a cropped moto jacket with split half sleeves, fully embodied her hero character. Underneath the jacket (which is straight from the fall collection), the Guyanese actress layered a black and white print shirt and finished with tall metal-tipped boots and a silver chain clutch. Aside from a smoky eye, she kept her beauty look minimal, but doubled down on the edgy theme with swirling rings and silver earrings. Gurira looked equally sharp in…

Dua Lipa Rocks a Bejeweled Corset For Marie Antoinette Themed Shoot

March 16, 2022 at 05:50PM Dua Lipa has just released “Sweetest Pie” alongside Megan Thee Stallion, and she’s having a significant Victorian-inspired fashion moment. The singer slipped into an assortment of intricate costumes for the music video, but she didn’t stop there. On her Instagram, she also posted a Marie Antoinette-themed shoot, this time wearing a white satin boned corset with blue-and-silver mirrored stones decorating the bodice. The jewels were emphasized with an oversize gold chainlink heart necklace, reminiscent of the Schiaparelli hardware she sported on her fitted gown and S-shaped horns in “Sweetest Pie.” Lipa finished the look for her regal shoot with sheer black tights, hoops, chunky rings, and towering, patent platforms, which she showed off in a shot that focuses on the lace-up detail at the back of her bustier. Images of flowery cakes, donuts, and cupcakes are sprinkled in…

Storm Reid’s Sheer Two-Piece Set Looks Straight From the “Euphoria” Wardrobe Closet

March 16, 2022 at 05:20PM It appears “Euphoria” has started rubbing off on Storm Reid’s personal style. While vacationing in Cabo with friends, the 18-year-old actor wore a mesh two-piece set by Heron Preston that would fit right in on the popular HBO show. Both the crop top and flared low-rise pants are completely sheer and covered in the same abstract camouflage print in varying shades of brown. Reid accessorized with gold hoop earrings, sparkly square-toe sandals, sunglasses, a beaded necklace, and several bracelets and rings before showing off the full look from all angles on her balcony. The star has been enjoying her well-deserved time off this week, hanging beachside in a blue sleeved bikini from her forthcoming Pacsun swimsuit collection and lounging at the pool in an orange halter two-piece and matching coverup. This year’s been a busy one for Reid;…

Blind and Low-Vision Viewers Care About Screen Style – So Why Does Audio Description Skip It?

March 16, 2022 at 05:05PM Image Source: Netflix “Emily scurries across the street wearing a short green coat.” That’s the vague audio description given to blind and low-vision viewers for one of Lily Collins’s first outfits in the season two opener of the hit Netflix series “Emily in Paris.” Unsurprisingly, what Emily is actually wearing is much more exciting. After an awkward exchange with her neighbor and love interest, Gabriel, Emily hurries off to work in a colorful, striped Versace polo and a Mugler blue-green miniskirt. It’s paired with a bold green belt and strappy heels, then layered with a green Elie Saab jacket. As you probably noticed, those are two very different descriptions. The first is what’s typically provided to those who rely on audio description - if a character’s outfit is described at all. Fashion is almost always left out of…

Tate McRae Isn’t Afraid to Take Risks

March 16, 2022 at 04:42PM Most teenagers don’t let their mom pick out their clothes. But Tate McRae is not your average 18-year-old, she’s a pop star who hates to shop, hence her mom-turned-stylist. “She is so involved in fashion, always watching the runway shows and keeping up with trends,” McRae says. “She’ll get all the outfits and then I’ll put them together myself. I have no idea why I’m blessed to have a mom with really good taste.” The Calgary-born performer favours matching sets, metallics and monochrome, a playful extension of the on-stage presence she’s cultivated for the past five years. In 2016, at age 13, she placed third on So You Think You Can Dance. (McRae was the American reality show’s first-ever Canadian finalist.) She built a music fanbase by posting original songs to her YouTube channel before releasing three singles…
