Lizzo’s New Shapewear Brand Will Change the Industry Forever

March 30, 2022 at 06:14PM In addition to her upcoming album and her new reality show, “Watch Out for the Big Grrrls,” on Amazon Prime, Lizzo has been working on a shapewear line called YITTY in partnership with activewear brand Fabletics. She teased the new venture in an Instagram post, writing, “I’m about to announce the biggest thing YET. Bigger than anything I’ve ever done. 3 years in the making. A Dream Come True. Stay tuned bitch. ❤️” “I’m selling a mentality that I can do what I want with my body, wear what I want and feel good while doing it.” It makes sense that Lizzo, a longtime advocate of body positivity and destigmatizing being fat and healthy, would get in the business of empowering people to love themselves. She has championed a series of boundary-pushing looks that promote radical self-acceptance and…

Barbie Ferreira’s Scarf Dress Nails the “Euphoria”-on-Vacation Aesthetic

March 30, 2022 at 05:10PM Barbie Ferreira is among the most colorful dressers in young Hollywood, and she proved the point at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty on Sunday, March 27, when she arrived in a silk Fendi scarf dress infused with ‘70s glamour. The “Euphoria” actor, who works with stylist Chris Horan on everything from editorials to events, plucked this design straight off Kim Jones’s spring/summer 2022 runway, where an archival logo was revamped. The subtle yet striking “Fendi” pattern was imprinted across Ferreira’s strapless dress, which was composed of diagonal ivory, pink, and gold stripes from top to bottom. Ferreira and Horan completely played into the '70s vibe, selecting circular Fendi O'Lock earrings that retail for $920 and are made from pink plexiglass, reminiscent of a retro pair of oversize sunglasses from the decade. To finish the look, Ferreira accessorized with…

It’s Official—These Are the 9 Biggest Hair Trends of 2022

March 30, 2022 at 06:52AM Our hair has been through a lot in recent years. With the two-year anniversary of the first wave of salon closures, it’s fair to say our strands have been subjected to their fair share of damage. But this year, the hairscape is looking optimistically different. For starters, appointment availability is aplenty, and it finally feels as though our hair routine (for the most part) is back to normal. While 2020 was spent trying to make our pre-lockdown cut last as long as possible, 2021 consisted of trying to get our strands fighting fit after all of the neglect. Now, with 2022 in full swing, we feel confident enough to say that this year is the year for hair—and we’re ready for change. To get an idea of the sorts of hair trends that will be popular this year, we reached out to some of the top stylists and experts…

The Corset is Getting a Modern Makeover

March 30, 2022 at 03:59PM The corset is one of history’s most controversial pieces of clothing. And thanks to Bridgerton’s revival of Regency-era fashion, it’s getting a modern-day makeover. Corsets were first constructed as an undergarment to flatten the bust in the 16th century. The following decades saw different variations on the original design emerge, with the most well-known being the waist-cinching bodice depicted in period dramas like Bridgerton. Golda Rosheuvel, Bridgerton season two; Photography courtesy of NetflixThe Netflix series has taken more than a few liberties with its costuming. Exhibit A: the historically inaccurate tightly wound corsets seen on the show’s leading ladies. During the Georgian era in which Bridgerton is set, corsets were actually soft and breathable since dresses had column-like silhouettes that hid curves. Over time, corsets gained a reputation for being oppressive and painful, which some argue is an unfair characterization.…

I’ve Tried Hundreds of Sunscreens, But This New SPF Is Hands Down My Favourite

March 30, 2022 at 06:18AM While I think that the importance of wearing SPF is pretty universally known by now, it doesn’t take away from the fact that a lot of people still avoid using it on a daily basis. It might well be the only product that actually protects our skin from sun damage—including the resulting pigmentation, dryness, fine lines and potentially something worse—but I’ll admit that it’s hardly the most luxurious of skincare products to use. In fact, some are downright horrible to wear. While I now wear sunscreen religiously every single day (I’ve heard too many horror stories from dermatologists to skip it), I actually avoided it entirely for years for fear that the traditionally thick and greasy SPFs would clog my pores and exacerbate my breakouts. However, facial sunscreens have come on leaps and bounds since then with textures becoming more lightweight and pleasant to use.…

Makeup Artists Say These 6 Moisturisers Will Age You in Reverse

March 30, 2022 at 08:00AM “Benjamin Buttoning.” Ageing backwards. Stopping time. If there’s one effect or buzzword that elicits the same visceral reaction from beauty editors, skincare experts, and customers alike, it’s anything with the term anti-ageing in it. The truth of the matter is this: There’s no miracle cream, gel, serum or treatment that has the power to actually reverse or halt the signs of ageing on the skin. (Sorry, it just doesn’t exist.) That said, there are a small number of products that come pretty close, and we’re about to share an edit of them below.Per a roster of celebrity makeup artists—Emily Cheng, Naoko Scintu and Emma White Turle—we’re uncovering a curated selection of the best anti-ageing moisturisers. The keyword here being curated because according to them, not every cream or moisturiser on the market works the same. Luckily, they find that the below six do wield high-performing effects…

I Have The Row Taste on an H&M Budget—Here Are 25 Spring Buys Under £100 I Love

March 30, 2022 at 08:00AM Hi, I’m Emily, and I have expensive taste. As far back as I can remember, I’ve always had a preference for the finer things in life (a fact my parents have always lamented). It’s probably why I ended up working in fashion in the first place after being attracted by the beauty and luxury of it all. The thing is, like most of us, I don’t have the budget to indulge these habits often, and although sometimes I might be tempted, I’m not about bankrupting myself to own a full designer closet. Instead, I admire from afar and choose my moments to invest in capsule pieces that will elevate my wardrobe most effectively—a classic designer handbag, for example, or a beautiful coat that I know I’ll wear again and again. For my day-to-day wardrobe, though, over my 10 years of working…

Victoria Beckham Just Paid Homage to Britney Spears in This “Risky” Outfit

March 30, 2022 at 08:00AM For the longest time, Victoria Beckham subscribed to her Posh aesthetic—think lots of black (or at the very least, muted) outfits and a whole host of tailoring. Of course, these pieces still populate her wardrobe, but we have noticed that VB has been gradually introducing more colour into her outfits over the last couple of years. It might have started subtly, but now, even with public appearances becoming rare, when we do see her step out, she’s often sporting clashing, block colours in ways we wouldn’t have been able to predict a decade ago. And her latest look is a testament to just how experimental her style has become. This week, for Saint Laurent’s A/W 22 runway show during Paris Fashion Week, it wasn’t David that VB had on her arm. Instead, she was accompanied by her son Romeo in what…
