Simone Biles Continues Her Swimwear Streak in a High-Leg One-Piece

April 08, 2022 at 05:45PM Simone Biles’s swimsuit style continues to reign supreme. Just a few weeks after rocking tons of chic bikinis on vacation in Turks and Caicos, the Olympic gymnast offered another peek at her endless swimwear collection. While lounging poolside on April 7, Biles exuded spring vibes in a pastel purple one-piece by Riot Swim. The first photo of her Instagram gallery showcases some of the suit’s key details: it has one shoulder strap, a trendy tie belt around the waist, and cuts super high at the hips. She also posted a second snap on Instagram to show off the back of the swimsuit, which features a sizable cutout. Biles styled her one-piece with white sunglasses, a silver bracelet, and her massive diamond engagement ring. She captioned her photos, “happy gal,” and tagged her fiancĂ©, Jonathan Owens, in the second…

Kourtney Kardashian Rocks a Black Cutout Cape to Her Hulu Premiere

April 08, 2022 at 05:32PM Kourtney Kardashian ended her whirlwind week with a striking look. Ahead of her family’s reality-television reboot, the star attended “The Kardashians” premiere on April 7 in Los Angeles wearing a dramatic Valentino cape dress from the brand’s fall/winter 2022 collection. With its floor-length hemline and cascading cape, the dress has a more modest silhouette, which is offset by an underboob cutout above the midriff. Kardashian added an edgy touch with a mixed-metal chainlink necklace. Kardashian’s fiancĂ© Travis Barker was also in attendance with his three children, Atiana De La Hoya, Alabama Barker, and Landon Barker. The appearance comes days after Kardashian and Barker had an impromptu wedding ceremony at a Las Vegas chapel following the Grammys. The wedding wasn’t legally binding, however, as they weren’t able to obtain a marriage license. “Practice makes perfect,” Kardashian joked. For their…

I Always Shop These 6 Items for Spring, and They’re All From the Same Site

April 08, 2022 at 07:01AM Spring is my favourite time of year. Tulips and daffodils are popping up, everyone starts to eat al fresco and we all generally get to leave the house without extra layers. What’s not to love? I also get super excited to try out the new spring/summer 2022 trends from the runways, but I won’t be wearing them all. Instead, I like to stick to a few great staples that will serve me for seasons to come. Enter The Outnet.Iris & Ink S/S 22 suitWith some of my all-time favourite designers, including Ganni, Rejina Pyo and Vince, all under one virtual roof, it’s easy to search for the brands that I love (and actually wear) at The Outnet. And when it comes to spring, the site is a go-to for certain pieces I can integrate into my existing wardrobe. It…

Indigenous Designers Did Sustainability First

April 08, 2022 at 02:30PM Long before fast-fashion brands had resale platforms and luxury labels were using recycled leather, Indigenous artisans were cultivating a community of makers who responsibly harvested the land and made unique and meaningful designs in the process. Our clothing was made for survival, using resources that protected us from the elements while simultaneously celebrating our heritage. And we rejected the 20th-century throwaway culture of more mainstream makers, who, as Metis designer Justine Woods says, adopted the ethos of “How can I make this garment the quickest while paying the littlest?” But the Western world is slowly catching up, and Indigenous creators are (finally!) being recognized in the process. Canada’s first Indigenous Governor General, Mary Simon, wore a dress by Inuit designer Victoria Okpik with beadwork by artist Julie Grenier from Kuujjuaq to her installation ceremony. How to Reduce Your Closet’s Carbon Footprint

April 08, 2022 at 02:00PM Reminders of the carbon footprints we create when we fly or drive are pretty much everywhere, from car charging stations to the offsets we can buy with our flights. But what about the damage done by our love of fashion? “I had heard about carbon footprints for years, but I never thought they applied to clothing; I thought they only referred to things that you can actually see fuel come out of,” says Randa Salloum, a Vancouve-rbased entrepreneur who founded Collective Will, a second-hand shop and studio. “I want people to understand that improving their carbon footprint doesn’t just mean not buying fast fashion or buying slow fashion; it also involves thinking about where pieces of clothing come from, because they have to go through so many hands.” It’s also important to think about what happens to your…

Friday Faves

Friday FavesApril 08, 2022 at 11:25AM Hi hi! Happy Friday!! What’s going on this weekend? This week has been a blur between returning from California and solo parenting. The Pilot headed straight from our trip to Dallas for the week, so I’m looking forward to having him home again! He’s taking the girls to a birthday party on Saturday while I snuggle under a blanket and watch Brigerton. I can’t even wait haha. What are you up to? We have another bday party Sunday, an event at the girls school, and I’m going to try to get in a hike. I’m trying to hike as much as possible before it’s 100 degrees around here. Something exciting: I have something for ya! I wanted to create a download with Mia with some of our top health tips and resources, and 17 pages later, here…

8 Spring Dress Trends French Women Love to Wear

April 08, 2022 at 08:00AM It’s natural, as we edge closer to the warmer months, that our minds gravitate towards dresses. Although they’re a year-round staple in the wardrobes of many, there’s nothing quite as satisfying as slipping into your favourite dress without the need for tights or a chunky jumper thrown over the top once the warm weather settles in. Having been treated to a few bright days over the last fortnight, I have found myself daydreaming about the dresses I’ll wear this year, be it for weddings or to elevate my daily wares.Whenever I fancy treating myself to something new or require a fresh dose of fashion inspiration, there is a selection of women I turn to, and the fact they’re all French or reside in France is no coincidence. If you’re familiar with my byline (for better or worse, my name is pretty…

Trust Me—These 31 Haircuts Are Seriously Low-Maintenance

April 08, 2022 at 08:00AM I cannot tell you the last time that my hair was at the forefront of my mind. Previously, “How should I wear my hair?” was the biggest question of my beauty routine, and now I feel like it’s fallen right to the bottom of my getting-dressed list. The thing is, while I want my hair to look like I’ve invested ample time in styling it, I don’t always have the minutes to spare. But my hair says so much about my current mood and the way that I want to present myself that I don’t want my two-minute style to scream “I really don’t care about my hair"—even if I did basically show my strands no love that morning.Luckily, via my ever-patient hairdresser, I sussed out a cut that is so low-maintenance that even when the biggest effort I make is running a brush through…
