Minimalist Makeup Looks to Try This Spring

April 18, 2022 at 03:12PM The Spring runways saw no shortage of minimalist makeup. Fashion houses from AlaĂŻa to Bottega Veneta paraded supermodels with cheeks blushed as if pinched, faces slicked with dew, and brows enviably brushed up to feathered perfection. For Toronto-based makeup artist Robert Weir, minimalism in makeup is a “less is more” approach to beauty. “Minimal can mean either focusing on one feature at a time or doing makeup so subtle that your natural features become the statement.” Still, the term minimal is not to be taken too literally — as even these laid back looks require some effort. Below, Weir talks to FASHION about how you can recreate these model-inspired minimalist beauty trends for the spring season like a pro. Flawless face At Collina Strada and AlaĂŻa, models embodied the “no makeup” look with skin so flawless it appeared…

Short Hair With A Fringe Is Going to Be a Major Thing This Spring—Here’s Proof

April 18, 2022 at 08:00AM There’s a common misconception that short hair doesn’t boast the same versatility as long hair—especially a cut that’s paired with an even shorter front. But the truth is, a short haircut with a fringe is not only a transition style (like after winter and before summer), but it can also be switched up at a moment’s notice. (Think front to side bangs, slicked back, or parted in the middle.) Don’t believe us? We’ve rounded up 25 short hairstyles with bangs that prove this is the perfect cut for spring.Gone are the days of straightening your fringe within an inch of their lives only to have them contradict the rest of your hair. Let your shag boast the same natural texture for a seriously showstopping look.First made famous by Mia Farrow in the ‘60s horror film, this short cut is nothing…

8 Stylish Shoes French Women Deem Essential for Spring

April 18, 2022 at 08:00AM While French women aren’t afraid to try new trends or challenge the clichĂ©s that are often attached to the French aesthetic, there’s no denying that they wear trend-proof pieces particularly well. Classic items that don’t date year-on-year and that come in handy when styling the more statement clothes in their wardrobe. French women have helped me better understand the need for solid basics, pieces that work hard and can be worn with a multitude of outfits. And this is undoubtedly the case when it comes to their footwear selection.Ever wondered which shoe styles French women wear during springtime? Let’s find out. As a confessed Francophile, I’m always looking for new ways to bestow my own looks with some Gallic charm. On the cusp of spring, I was particularly interested in finding out which spring shoes French girls are most likely…

These Are the 18 Affordable Anti-Ageing Skincare Products That Actually Work

April 18, 2022 at 08:00AM If I had to highlight only one term that has the power to make a beauty editor shudder unlike any other, it would have to be “anti-ageing”. Because the truth is (and brace yourselves for this one), no beauty product truly has the power to totally reverse the signs of ageing. No serum, cream, oil or mask that money can buy can actually eradicate wrinkles. With that being said, there are a very small number of ingredients that can definitely help minimise signs of ageing (and even more so when they’re used alongside youth-preserving massage techniques). But when I say very small, I mean it. In fact, there is only a handful of ingredients that have been scientifically-proven to reduce the appearance of age-related skin issues. From wrinkle-reducing retinol to skin brightening vitamin C, it’s hard to comprehend why beauty companies expect us to pay premium…

Layered Hair Is the Low-Maintenance Trend We Should All Be Embracing for Spring

April 18, 2022 at 08:00AM When it comes to hair trends, glossy, blunt cuts have most definitely reigned supreme as of late. For the last few years, we have found ourselves swooning over glossy, glass-like lengths and adding all of the blunt-bob inspiration to our saved folders on Instagram. There’s no doubt that blunt cuts have had their fair share of love. But now, there’s a new hair trend on the horizon. With the time between our hair appointments becoming longer, high-maintenance blunt chops are on the out, and no-fuss, layered hair is back (see the recent success of the shag and the long shag). Not only do layers give hair an undone, effortless vibe, but they also help to disguise breakage and split ends (things that have become inevitable). While we don’t have long to wait until salon doors reopen, we think it’s still important to consider the…
