From the Adidas Gazelles that I got aged 9 to the collection I’ve amassed 17 years later, you could say I’m a big fan. What I’m trying to say is I don’t suddenly love sneakers because they’re ‘in’. Trainers have, of course, become quite the status symbol in the fashion world. Starting with Phoebe Philo’s love of Adidas Stan Smiths to sell-out chunky sneakers by the likes of Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton, we’re now at the point where wearing trainers is as common as wearing heels.
