Honestly, This Is the Only Pair of Trousers That Keeps Me Cool Right Now

July 21, 2021 at 07:00AM I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty warm right now. As I type, I’m hiding away from the heatwave and trying to remain cool with all the curtains shut and windows open. Of course, as a fashion editor, I’ve spent a lot of time considering the ideal kind of outfit to wear in hot weather that doesn’t just consist of sitting around in my pants. I might still be working from home, but I do have standards. While dresses are great and all that, and absolutely should be kept in your heatwave-dressing arsenal, I think there’s one item that you don’t want to overlook when it’s warm: linen trousers and, in particular, wide-leg linen trousers. This garment is great for keeping you cool thanks to the breathable material, but the loose style also helps to circulate air (goodbye, thigh-chafing).…

I’m Always Looking for the Best Under-Eye Corrector, and I Think I’ve Found It

July 21, 2021 at 06:30AM If you come here often, you’ll know that my ongoing battle with dark circles has been a long and tumultuous one. No doubt due to genetics, I’ve been graced with two prominent under-eye dark circles on my face for as long as I can remember. And while I don’t particularly mind the way that they look, over the years, I’ve become totally fed up with people telling me I look tired when in reality I’ve slept for 10 hours.I have spent a huge chunk of my life testing every eye cream out there that promises to rid my under-eyes of dark circles, and the truth is none of them works. Sure, they can brighten things up a little and help tackle dehydration, but no eye cream is going to totally cure dark circles. After countless consultations with various doctors about…

17 Designer Candles That’ll Make Your Home Feel (and Smell) So Expensive

July 21, 2021 at 06:05AM There are candles, and then there are designer candles. I don’t always subscribe to the notion “you get what you pay for,” but sometimes, when it comes to candles, that’s actually the case. I’ve bought more than my fair share of frugal candles, and while some have had surprisingly potent scents and impressive burn times, more often than not, I find myself disappointed in the quality. Over the past couple of years, I’ve treated myself to a handful of designer candles, and I can confirm that, if you can afford to do so, they’re absolutely worth spending a little extra on. But which designer candles are the best? I’d be lying if I said I’d burned all of the wicks on this list (my bank balance would have to be somewhat more flush for that to be the case), but I have…

18 Summer Outfits We Love for All Kinds of Weather

July 21, 2021 at 06:07AM I don’t know about you, but all I can think about is summer. If you too are dreaming of afternoons in beer gardens and summer parties with friends, then you might already be searching for the perfect summer outfits for our return to socialising with fewer restrictions. I bought a pair of sandals and a summer cotton dress within hours of the proposal for a freer summer and have been looking for outfit ideas ever since.Sometimes, summer outfits need to be straightforward and simple to assemble, with just the flourish of a key accessory or subtle injection of a new styling move, and sometimes—because the UK’s climate is so unpredictable—the layering and construction will be more demanding. We’ve supplied the more advanced levels, of course. Remember if the sandals don’t work due to rain, plenty of the below outfits work…

I Can’t Believe This Revealing Trend Is Happening This Autumn

July 21, 2021 at 06:01AM What with baguette bags, slip dresses and flippy miniskirts enjoying a renaissance as we fawn over all things ‘90s, it was only a matter of time before the most divisive trend of all reared its head: the catsuit.Blame it on the runways all you like (at Prada and Halpern, spray-on bodysuits came with striking patterns that bring a whole new meaning to the term “all-in-one”), but early adopters have been giving legs—and arms… and everything in-between—to the movement, too.Prada A/W 21 collectionFrench eco-friendly brand Marcia’s long-sleeved catsuit has been donned by influencers Camille Charrière and María Bernad, lending a superhero spin on an item otherwise known as a stage performer’s staple, and—dare we say it—the result is surprisingly chic.Halpern A/W 21 collectionOf course, not all catsuits are made equal, and this season, the range looks set to be democratic. In addition…

24 Heatwave-Proof Dresses That Come in Under £100

July 21, 2021 at 06:00AM From polka dots and smocks to back-baring midis and pops of print, the results of 2021's affordable dress deep dive are in, and I can confirm that we’re experiencing a stellar year. With temperatures reaching a sweltering 31 degrees this week, it’s fair to say that summer has finally arrived, and in turn, sent us scrambling in our wardrobes trying to dig out our favourite heatwave-proof frocks. Honestly, the British weather can be so hard to keep up with sometimes.  So what are we seeing from 2021’s offering? Well, I can confirm that the oversized silhouette has returned, but this season, it comes with unexpected details, such as a cut-out back or an eye-popping print. While I love a good neutral, I am also welcoming in the mood-boosting appeal of colour and print. The pervading trends include ‘90s tie-dye (Weekday has a great selection), checks, graphic florals and the odd Breton stripe. My personal fave?…
