We’re Not Olympic Judges, but We’d Score Tom Daley’s Knitted Team GB Cardigan an 11/10

August 05, 2021 at 01:33PM Here at POPSUGAR, we’re huge fans of the Olympics, especially when it comes to cheering on Team GB and becoming experts in sports we weren’t familiar with before July 23. But there’s another sport that we’ve become even more obsessed with during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, and that’s Tom Daley knitting and crocheting in the stands while cheering on his teammates. We’ve seen him crochet a dog jumper, an Olympic medal pouch, and also an epic Olympic-themed cardigan. After working on it over the last few weeks, Tom proudly showed off his latest masterpiece on his Instagram page @madewithlovebytomdaley. “When I got to Tokyo, I wanted to make something that would remind me of these games. Something that I could say I had made in Tokyo, during the Olympics!” he wrote in the Instagram caption showing off…

No One Believes I Found This £13 Cool Top from M&S

August 05, 2021 at 12:19PM What is behind our continued obsession with tie-dye? And when I say ‘our’, I mean everyone, not just the fashion crowd. While the trend might have exploded on the runways a few seasons ago (Dior, Proenza Schouler and Versace, to name a few), it wasn’t until we hit the first lockdown that the trend suddenly became the print du jour, with online global shopping platform Lyst reporting a huge increase in searches for the print last year. I think part of its appeal is to do with its roots—most recently in '60s hippie culture and as such is associated with a more laid-back lifestyle. In a world where anxiety is, understandably, at an all-time high, tie-dye gives the impression of being more chilled out even when you probably aren’t. Personally, my motivation for wearing tie-dye is somewhere in between all the above…

Here’s What a Dermatologist Really Thinks About These 6 Viral Skincare Products

August 05, 2021 at 08:00AM While social media can be a hub for all things fashion and beauty, skincare is a topic that can get a little tricky, especially when certain products start to trend. I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been guilty of succumbing to a viral product only to be disappointed when it didn’t exactly work for my skin. While following trends for clothes and makeup can be an easier feat, with skincare, it’s crucial to be cautious because what works for others may not work for you, and some products may seem like they’re working but can actually cause damage and irritation later on. It’s important to pay close attention to the ingredients before purchasing a product and to consult an expert if possible, especially if you’re facing specific skin concerns. Since I’ve been seeing quite a few products circulate around social media that have…

Everyone Is Wearing This Shoe Style With Leggings Again

August 05, 2021 at 08:00AM In recent years, it was typical to see leggings paired with sneakers or a pair of slide sandals from time to time, but that’s about it. This winter, celebrities have been wearing them outside of the gym a lot more than usual, even dressing them up with chic outerwear and jewellery. And the particular shoe style that’s most often worn with jeans this time of year? Ankle boots.Yes, you read correctly—leather ankle boots (and not just Uggs) have made their way back into celebrities’ legging outfits, many of which have heels. We’ll admit that they look very, very chic. Take Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, for example, in her long vest, athletic leggings, and black suede ankle boots. Want to see more proof? Scroll for the celeb-approved legging-and–ankle-boot outfits that may encourage you to follow suit (and shop stylish leggings and ankle boots, of course). On Jennifer…

From Now on, This Is How I’m Doing Wedding Guest Dressing

August 05, 2021 at 08:00AM I won’t be the first or the last person to ever panic about what to wear to a wedding. The truth is that it's difficult because we’ve all been hardwired into buying something new for the occasion. I imagine this is something to do with the psychology behind getting dressed. A new dress will make us feel and look better, so we’re always striving for the next dress to give us that confidence boost. I get it because I’ve been there, but there are two major problems with this thinking: One, it’s not ethical to continue buying a new dress every time there’s a fancy event on only to never wear it again. Two, it’s not a financial option for most of us. But what if I were to tell you that you can wear a new dress to every nuptial you’ve…

Commit These Top Designer Jewellery Brands to Memory

August 05, 2021 at 06:09AM On the whole, jewellery never goes out of style. No matter the decade or the trend, the unique designs of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings have served as both statement pieces and daily accessories. Whether pearl, gold, silver, rose gold, diamond, or something else entirely, a good jewellery piece can stand alone, completing your outfit and adding the right amount of elegance and sparkle. As much as we love our day-to-day pieces, though, we’re always on the hunt for new ones to add to our collection; ones we will hopefully be able to pass on as family heirlooms. And so, more often than not, to acquire a piece that will outlast trends and generations, you have to invest in designer jewellery brands.Whether it’s a renowned Cartier Love Bracelet or a classic Mikimoto pearl necklace, there are so many designers elevating jewellery and creating…

These 10 Microtrends Are Going to Be the Next Big Thing

August 05, 2021 at 06:08AM You probably know this by now: Team Who What Wear loves a microtrend. We’re always keen to decode the runways in order to bring you a realistic line-up of the most influential looks you’ll want to incorporate into your own wardrobe each season (and autumn/winter 2021 is looking particularly tempting already) but there’s no denying the power of an up-and-coming item, styling idea, colour or detail that hasn’t yet hit the big time or been splashed all over the catwalks. Nothing says in-the-know quite like a niche trend, and we’re PHD-level hunters in this field. Our predictions ahead of summer were spot on: Key pieces we put bets on, such as fisherman sandals, floppy fabric hats and corsets, have not only spread far and wide on social media, but they’ve been present on the streets and at our favourite retailers too. This forthcoming…
