These 6 Autumn Trends Are So Good Influencers Are Already Wearing Them

September 03, 2021 at 08:00AM Yesterday, when I stepped outside, the chill and moisture in the air felt distinctly like autumn. My gut reaction? Excitement. I love autumn, I love dressing for autumn, and now, it feels like I can genuinely start planning my outfits for the upcoming season. You might think I’m unnecessarily organised. After all, we still have at least a few weeks of summer left. But after my latest Instagram scroll, it would appear I’m actually late to the party, as many of my favourite influencers are already wearing autumn trends now. Why, I hear you ask, would they do such a thing? It probably has something to do with the fact that the autumn 2021 trends are some of the most fun to wear that we’ve seen in a long while. Autumn fashion can often be quite serious, dominated by a moody colour palette…

No One Believes I Found This Cool £13 Top From Marks and Spencer

September 03, 2021 at 08:00AM What is behind our continued obsession with tie-dye? And when I say “our,” I mean everyone, not just the fashion crowd. While the trend might have exploded on the runways a few seasons ago (Dior, Proenza Schouler and Versace, to name a few), it wasn’t until we hit the first lockdown that the trend suddenly became the print du jour, with online global shopping platform Lyst reporting a huge increase in searches for the print last year. I think part of its appeal is to do with its roots—most recently in ‘60s hippie culture—and as such, it’s associated with a more laid-back lifestyle. In a world where anxiety is, understandably, at an all-time high, tie-dye gives the impression of being more chilled out even when you probably aren’t. Personally, my motivation for wearing tie-dye is somewhere in between the above reasons. I…

This Low-Maintenance Haircut Is Set to Be Huge in 2021

September 03, 2021 at 08:00AM If you had asked any beauty insider back in January what the big hair trends for the year ahead would be, it’s unlikely anyone would have said grown-out roots, wonky fringes, and patchy box dye jobs. Yet here we are. The year is finally drawing to a close, and it’s safe to say that the face of beauty has changed substantially over the past 11 months, most notably when it comes to our hair. Whatever your signature style, whether you started the year with ice-white lengths or a sleek, glass-like bob, chances are 2020 has messed with your hair game.Sure, we all started this ride feeling optimistic that we would be able to return to our trusty stylists and get our signature locks back just as soon as things “blew over,” but as time has moved on so have our hair priorities.…

If You’re Going to a Restaurant, Here Are Some A+ Outfit Ideas

September 03, 2021 at 06:28AM Having been deprived of this luxury for so long, we doubt we’re the only ones who are making the most of eating at a restaurant again. A meal out presents the ideal opportunity to really dress up and unearth those fancier items from the back of your wardrobe. It seems this novelty isn’t wearing thin yet, either. Just last week, I saw people wearing their fanciest frocks to eat a burger in a pub beer garden—and why not? If you want a night out of your tracksuit bottoms and are ready to dress up for dinner (or breakfast, brunch or lunch!), below I’ve listed several outfit ideas that feel fabulous but not too OTT for a night under an electric heater if you’re still choosing seat outside. As we head into autumn, any al fresco dining you wish to partake in might require…

4 Autumn Trends French Women Won’t Ever Wear

September 03, 2021 at 06:31AM We spent a lot of time studying the wardrobes of French women, what they wear to weddings, which jeans they prefer, the brands they regularly shop and so on. However, we’ve decided to approach this article with a different tack. With a discernible chill in the air, right now, our minds are hardwired to think only of autumn and what we’re going to wear (and temporarily discard) for the season ahead. And that got us thinking: Instead of focussing on the trends French women will wear, we wanted to find out which autumn trends they’ll be passing on. We’ve already outlined the trends for autumn 2021 in our trend report, which covered all the noteworthy looks you need to know. However, if you’re short on time, we’ll sum it up—they’re somewhat eclectic. The bold and daring ensembles on one runway were balanced out by…

10 Perfect Outfits French Girls Are Prioritising

September 03, 2021 at 06:18AM Whether or not you’ve actually visited the French capital, you’re likely familiar with the archetype of the Parisian aesthetic. Marked by dishevelled hair, a classic red lip, and an effortless low-key ensemble, the French-girl look is a well-known style trope with roots in the early 1950s.Popularised by the likes of Brigitte Bardot and Jane Birkin (a Brit with so much je ne sais quoi), French style has since been reimagined by modern-day influencers like Sabina Socol and Ellie Delphine. While classic jeans, a white tee, and a basket bag are still prevalent, the look now includes slip skirts, blazers, corduroy trousers, cable-knit cardigans, and more. Of course, the French approach to beauty and style is more pertinent than the clothes themselves. The look is low-maintenance, slightly carefree, and just “undone” enough. We’re pleased to report that Parisian It girls still cherish the classic French style code to…

We’re Obsessed by These 5 Autumn Colour Trends

September 03, 2021 at 06:13AM It might only be the first week of September and, yes, summer wares may still line the shelves of our favourite high street stores, but we can’t help but notice that the new-in sections are slowly but surely being infiltrated by autumn pieces—from trans-seasonal jackets to sturdy boots—and we’re not going to lie, we’re pretty excited about it.There are a few colours that inevitably dominate every single autumn, however, there are some new additions that are set to make a splash this September. While last year everyone lost it over browns and khakis, this year it’s more about colour binaries: think lime green rubbing shoulders with burnt orange, and pale beige put into relief by fashion editor black (yes we know it’s not technically a colour but… fashion).Of course, we don’t like to be too prescriptive about these things, but if you think about it, giving a nod to a new season hue…

7 Wardrobe Classics That Look So Much Better Secondhand

September 03, 2021 at 06:00AM For anyone who isn’t well acquainted with the world of vintage fashion, you would be forgiven for thinking that it’s a market solely dedicated to OTT prints, extraverted silhouettes, and eccentric styling. In my experience, it’s also a treasure trove of versatile, well-made wardrobe basics that act as the glue in my year-round capsule. I’m thinking tailored blazers, leather boots, and chunky knitwear that transcend seasonal trends and come with very reasonable price tags. Style, quality, and affordability? It’s a win-win situation. So if you’re looking for a few fresh fashion staples to kick off autumn 2021, why not give secondhand a try? It is Secondhand September after all. To get you started, I trawled some of my favourite vintage fashion sites (hello, Etsy and Rokit) to find some hard-working basics that will stand the test of time. Trust me. Once you go secondhand, you’ll find…
