Only Rihanna Can Style a Bra With a Blazer and a Baseball Hat and Look This Cool

August 16, 2021 at 05:38PM Rihanna’s summer style has been anything but boring, and the same can definitely be said for her latest outfit. The singer put on a chic outfit to grab some groceries from Whole Foods. While most of our errand-running outfits consist of sweatsuits, workout gear, or even a simple jean-and-tee combo, Rih decided to show us all how it’s done with a tweed blazer. She styled a pair of ripped jeans with the black jacket that was left open to reveal a lacy black bra, presumably from her lingerie line Savage x Fenty. Rihanna’s styling of the lacy bra paired with the blazer was the perfect mix of chic and sexy. She accessorized with a string of pearl necklaces wrapped along her neck as well as a Chanel chain-link belt. As if that wasn’t enough to make her outfit…

Saweetie’s Swimsuit in the “Hit It” Music Video Is Sexy, but It Was Also Created With Intention

August 16, 2021 at 04:19PM Saweetie is one of the many stars who has picked up on the Haus of Pinklemonaid hype this summer, choosing the brand to design her swimsuit for her appearance in the Black Eyed Peas’s “Hit It” music video. While the successful 28-year-old rapper also got to wear a striped, crystal-covered dress and rhinestone encrusted skirt set, the Deni one-shoulder cutout one-piece was made thoughtfully just for her in-house by Filipino designer Andru Wallace, who founded the Haus of Pinklemonaid brand in 2013 after starting off in the industry as a stylist. This one-of-a-kind take on the Deni is crafted from the highest quality Italian nylon and Lycra and takes influence from the Filipino flag to celebrate Saweetie’s heritage with its golden-yellow sun rays on the white portion of the midriff. Kim Kardashian has also been spotted in Haus…

How to Shop for Jewellery Ethically

August 16, 2021 at 04:18PM In fashion, ethical has become essential. We’ve seen this clearly with clothes, where sustainability and recycling, if not industry norms, are being viewed by more and more consumers as crucial features that bring added value. But what about jewellery? In fact, well before the mainstream fashion world was waking up to the ethical issues associated with making clothing, the jewellery world was addressing some not-so-pretty problems in its own backyard: blood diamonds, for example, sold to fund wars, and gold mining, resulting in deforestation and water pollution and done by poorly paid workers (often children) subjected to some of the worst working conditions on earth. But fear not: Not all bling is bad. You just have to choose carefully. Thankfully, retailers, watchdog organizations and the big providers themselves are making this easier for us by putting protocols for…

5 Layering Hacks That Prove Fall Is the Best Fashion Season

August 16, 2021 at 02:00PM We all know how the story goes—as the summer season begins to wind down and the leaves change to signify fall, we struggle to dress for up-and-down weather. We dress for the cool morning air, only to find ourselves searing under the midday sun. The key to surviving a Canadian change in season comes down to a simple trick: layering. ‘Tis the season of layers, layers and more layers, but it’s not as easy as just throwing on a bunch of different items. It’s a formula that takes some practice, knowledge of your own fashion sense and a few strategic wardrobe pieces, that all together will make your new life of layering a total breeze.  Not sure where to start? Nordstrom Rack has you covered. With every brand, style and all price points under one roof, it’s your ideal one-stop…

Kendall, Bella and Hailey All Love This Controversial Trend—And I Do Too

August 16, 2021 at 12:00PM It’s a real feat of fashion design to be able to tread the line between uber-sass and sophistication. But Jacquemus somehow manages to pull it off season after season. Whether it’s cut-out skirts, fitted dresses or cropped shirts, there’s no escaping that his more revealing pieces still look chic. Part of the winning formula is to do with the way in which an outfit is styled but also I’d say that he often sticks to a more muted palette (with the exception of the bold pinks and oranges) and this gives the pieces a more demure sheen. This season, it’s the turn of the micro cardigan. Spotted on various celebrities—Kendall Jenner on the most recent Jacquemus runway as part of the La Montagne collection, Hailey Bieber out an about in L.A. and Bella Hadid outside the Jacquemus show—it’s suddenly become a…

August 16, 2021 at 10:27AM Fashion collaborations come in a variety of guises; some result in an exciting fusion of design aesthetics while others, well, let’s just say should’ve just stuck to what they do best. Proenza Schouler and Birkenstock might not have been the most obvious of fashion bedfellows, but when these two brands dropped their first sandal collaboration last year, the fashion crowd couldn’t get enough—and neither could we.Bringing all of Proenza's design know-how and the comfy, hard-wearing appeal of Birkenstock’s iconic sandal, the resulting styles entered the market just as the 'Gorpcore’ trend was hitting the big time. With their clean lines, pops of colour and comfortable fit, they were a rare meeting of form and function. So, it came as no surprise to us when we found out this sellout collection was coming back for 2021.“Birkenstocks have always had a special place in our lives and are one of the few…
