Here’s Why Lilac — Yes, Lilac — Should Be Your Go-To Colour This Fall

September 09, 2021 at 09:44PM This fall, the fashion world is turning their attention away from rich jewel tones like burgundy and emerald green in favour of more delicate hues like lilac — and we’re not mad about it. Whether you’re going for a sophisticated look with clean lines or reaching for a relaxed silhouette, the lilac trend 2021 is sure to be everything this fall and winter. Salvatore Ferragamo, Jil Sander, and Marine Serre are just some of the many designers who sent the unexpected fall colour down the runway, adding a pastel freshness to classic autumnal pieces like cozy knits and tailored coats. This shade of purple has also been spotted on celebrities like Hailey Bieber, Normani, and Michael B. Jordan in recent months and it’s easy to see why. If you’re on the hunt for the perfect colour to shake…

Yara Shahidi Was a Whole Work of Art in a Dior Sweater Vest at New York Fashion Week

September 09, 2021 at 09:25PM If you made your way through the Brooklyn Museum during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 8, you might have come across lavish Dior designs, paintings that date back centuries, and even Yara Shahidi looking like a work of art. Like a cross between 1921 and 2021, Yara attended The Exhibition Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams on Wednesday while wearing a Dior Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2022 black mohair houndstooth sweater, a flannel skirt with a high waistline, and Dior heeled sandals. “Don’t touch the art,” she captioned a post on Instagram, and we don’t need to be told twice. The exhibit, curated by Florence Müller and Matthew Yokobosky features never-before-seen silhouettes marking 70 years of Christian Dior’s fashion impact, but we couldn’t take our eyes off of Yara’s shimmering sweater vest. Reminiscent of a starry night, the sweater…

I Tried Clothing Subscription Service Armoire, and I Actually Had Fun With Fashion Again

September 09, 2021 at 07:10PM I used to think I possessed a little something called “style,” but these days my daily fits consist of sweats, bike shorts, old oversized T-shirts, and my trusted Harry Styles sweatshirt. Though dressing for comfort is something I’ve grown fond of during the pandemic, I am deeply in a style rut. So when I got the chance to try out Armoire ($69 and up), a clothing subscription company, I was excited to go back to the old days, when I used to actually get dressed. To begin, I took a short style quiz that was aimed to help them better suggest pieces I might like. It only took five minutes, and it asked about the types of pieces I’m drawn to (tailored trousers), what I wear a lot (Breton stripes), what I would never wear (paisley), as well…

Thanks to Irina Shayk’s Cargos, I’m THIS Close to Clicking “Purchase” on a Pair of Low-Rise Pants

September 09, 2021 at 06:55PM I’ve hemmed and hawed over the return of some of the early-aughts trends that have made their way back in vogue. I’ve passed on bucket hats and tiny shades, but welcomed others - wide-cut denim and sweater sets; though I’ve been firm on my stance when it comes to low-rise pants - and that’s a hard no from me. Cut to Irina Shayk stepping out for the Bulgari party in NYC in a LaQuan Smith bustier and pants from The Attico and I’m over here eating my words - and browsing the web for the same hip-slung cargos. While something about low-rise jeans can seem stuck in the past, these cargos - and this whole outfit - feel inspired by nostalgia, but altogether new and exciting. The look feels reminiscent of some throwback style moments, but also kind…

Between the Corset Top and Head-to-Toe Leather, Ciara’s Fall Outfit Is Just Effortlessly Sexy

September 09, 2021 at 05:39PM If I had to choose one outfit to epitomize my fall style inspiration, it would have to be Ciara’s at the Dundas x Revolve show during New York Fashion Week. Sitting front row with Lori Harvey, Emily Ratajkowski, and La La Anthony on Sept. 8, the singer wore a full leather, monochromatic look featuring a sexy corset top and matching pleated skirt with a short furry coat draped over her shoulders. And of course, the star: her over-the-knee heeled boots lined in a hunter green shearling trim. Between the head-to-toe leather, the perfect olive green color, and the fuzzy accents, the singer’s outfit exudes the main character energy I’m striving for this fall. It’s not easy to pull off wearing a single color from head to toe, but Ciara of course looks effortless as always. Zero in on…

Thank Heavens Lori Harvey Gave Us a Peek at the Back of Her Dress, ‘Cause Whew, Is It Sexy

September 09, 2021 at 05:19PM Hey, can someone check on Michael B. Jordan real quick? ‘Cause we just want to make sure he’s doing OK after seeing Lori Harvey’s latest outfit. The always-stylish model attended the Peter Dundas x Revolve runway show during New York Fashion Week on Wednesday and wore quite the head-turning piece from the capsule collection to celebrate its debut. Lori chose a chocolate-brown maxi dress that made her radiate major goddess energy as she posed on the glossy runway. At first, we were most captivated by the hip-grazing slit and side cutouts, but then we caught a glimpse at the back of her dress, which was fully open and draped with gunmetal chains, and that instantly took the cake for sexiest detail. Lori appears to be quite fond of open-back silhouettes these days. Remember that sequined Prada number she…
