Kate Middleton Just Wore Another Piece We Can’t Believe She Found in Zara

September 12, 2021 at 08:00AM If you’re a regular reader of Who What Wear, you’re probably well acquainted with Kate Middleton’s wardrobe. She dresses pretty classically, but occasionally she’ll surprise us with something a bit different (case in point: this chic outfit with Warehouse and Chanel). The list of the designers she often turns to is pretty definite: often Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham and occasionally Erdem, Emilia Wickstead and Roksanda. But it’s not just the more expensive end of the spectrum she’s a fan of. She regularly wears high-street pieces from a range of brands, from Superga sneakers to & Other Stories dresses. But, and I’m going to put my stake in the ground here, her favourite store has to be Zara. For years she’s worn pieces from the high-street brand and always makes them look super expensive. Yesterday she attended a Euros game with…

25 Stunning Haircuts Celebs in Their 50s Always Ask For

September 12, 2021 at 08:00AM We’ve encountered enough badass women in their 40s, 50, 60s, and beyond to know that there are tons of outdated clichĂ©s about aging. Gone are the days where women are pressured to dress a certain way the second we hit age 40 or stop wearing our favorite makeup. (Although, there are formulas that work better for mature skin.) The general attitude around aging has seen a major shift for the better in recent years, and there’s a sense of liberation that’s come along with it that we absolutely love. While the number of years we’ve been on this earth doesn’t have to control our lives, there are, indeed, some unavoidable shifts that come up the further along we get, including changes to our hair. For this reason, many women start to consider different haircuts by the time we hit age 50.“The hair sometimes tends to…

Without a Doubt, These 13 Autumn Nail Colours Always Look Classy

September 12, 2021 at 08:00AM It’s safe to say that this year, we’ve fallen back in love with getting our nails done. Having been denied the salon experience for so long, I—and, judging by the difficulty I had getting an appointment with my manicurist, so many of you—have been working hard to make up for lost time. When I did finally get my turn in the salon chair last week, I was curious to find out which colours were proving popular right now, to which my manicurist responded, “Everything autumnal—in here, summer’s over.”That’s right—while our wardrobes may still be clinging to the last few weeks of warm(ish) weather, as far as our nails go, our approach and preferences are absolutely geared towards autumn. I’m no exception, either, for the colour I chose was a rich, deep shade of burgundy, which I thought would help bridge…

My Friend Looks 10 Years Younger Than She Is, so I Did Her Skincare for 5 Months

September 12, 2021 at 08:00AM My friend Shayna Kossove is 42. She is also my colleague at Who What Wear, meaning I see her a lot and have plenty of opportunities to gaze upon her surprisingly, confusingly youthful visage. As two of the company’s veteran employees, we’ve worked together for almost eight years, and I promise I am not exaggerating when I say she looks exactly the same as when I started at the company. It is confounding. There’s a general consensus among the editors that Shayna looks 10-plus years younger than she is. Naturally, I needed to know what beauty witchcraft was going on, so I decided to get her exact anti-ageing skincare routine and copy it—and copy it and copy it—until I, too, would begin to age in reverse. I stuck with it for five months, and it worked. Here’s an in-depth look at her fountain-of-youth routine,…

Everyone Always Asks Me About My Dresses—These 44 Are Fantastic

September 12, 2021 at 06:32AM If there’s one thing I know, it’s dresses. My wardrobe is full of them, and I wear them 99.9% of the time. I’ve always struggled with casual (long-time Who What Wear readers will have repeatedly read about my ongoing struggle with denim—sorry to be a bore!), so easy, good-looking frocks are my most trusted fashion staple. I have affordable ones that I wear each and every week. I have special, more expensive ones that come out for important occasions or big meetings. I have those in-between, mid-priced options that bridge the gap between casual days and fancy ones. I own styles that are ultra-summery and best for heatwaves and holiday packing, but I’ve also got a fair number of clever, trans-seasonal styles that can work layered up and with tights in winter or with bare legs and sandals during warmer months. I even…

I Don’t Usually Use Retinol, But This New Moisturiser Might Have Finally Sold Me

September 12, 2021 at 06:30AM I have a confession to make
I don’t use retinol. Cue the gasps and ‘quelle horreur’s, right? Trust me, as a beauty journalist I get a lot of stick for this amongst my peers for this, but I stand by position. You see, my skin is temperamental at the best of times and downright angry at the worst. It’s oily, congested and spot-prone, making it an ideal subject for retinol. But my skin is also very reactive and sensitive, meaning even just one wrong application will inevitably leave my skin upset for weeks. So, for the most part, I’ve steered clear of retinol and have been happy enough to do so.Having said that, there has always been the prospect of what my skin could be should I ever stumble across the perfect formula, niggling away in the back of…
