Evan Mock Brought Back His Iconic Pink Hair for the Met Gala and We’re Not Worthy

September 14, 2021 at 09:50PM If we’re handing out best dressed superlatives to the 2021 Met Gala freshmen class, then Evan Mock has our vote. The skateboarder-turned-model-turned-actor returned to his Gossip Girl character’s favorite New York City landmark last night dressed head to toe in a spectacular Thom Browne ensemble. In case that wasn’t enough, Mock also brought back his iconic pink buzzcut for the special occasion. The 24-year-old did not play it safe, arriving in long shorts, mismatched socks, and boots. Of course, being the fashion trendsetter he is, Mock made it look cool and flawless all at the same time. The black-and-white outfit was paired with a black manicure, chunky silver jewelry, and a leather mask covered in spikes (again, only something he could pull off). After his grand entrance, Mock removed the leather mask unveiling his signature pink hair. Take…

Troye Sivan Made the Met Gala Theme Look Easy in a Sexy Figure-Hugging Tank Dress

September 14, 2021 at 09:25PM Celebrity interpretations of the Met Gala’s 2021 “In America” theme ranged from gothic glam to elaborate and colorful on Monday night, but Troye Sivan’s take is 100-percent New York City chic - with a sexy twist. Designed by Joseph Altuzarra for soon-to-be-launched “genderful” brand ALTU, Troye’s black knit dress featured sleek side cut-outs and a plunging neckline that perfectly showed off his collarbones. In speaking with Vogue’s red carpet host Keke Palmer, Troye said his inspiration for the look came from his vision of America, which stems strongly from NYC street style, minimalist designs, and classic black and white color schemes. The “Angel Baby” singer added a bit of sparkle to the figure-hugging look with a Cartier diamond necklace and a black leather armband on his left bicep, a sexy shoutout to his new visualizer video. While his…

Law Roach Strikes Again: See Kehlani’s Cropped Crystal Suit at the 2021 Met Gala

September 14, 2021 at 07:26PM This year’s American-themed Met Gala delivered dozens of unforgettable celebrity fashion moments, thanks in part to the style wisdom of Law Roach. A full day after the Costume Institute Benefit, we can’t take our eyes off the crystal-embellished AliĂ©tte suit he styled for Kehlani. Sparkling from every angle, the suit included a cropped jacket with exaggerated shoulder pads and high-waisted, wide-leg pants that stretched all the way to the floor. Styled with feathered waves, silver platform boots, and a whole jewelry store’s worth of diamond rings, the crystal suit made Kehlani look like a ‘70s disco queen. A few hours later, the “I Like Dat” singer hit up Rihanna’s afterparty in a black pinstripe suit with flowers and symbols - including the words “Come as You Are” - embroidered on the sleeves and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. She paired…

Kim Kardashian and Rihanna: The Looks that Broke the Internet

September 14, 2021 at 07:18PM It’s the Tuesday after the second Monday in September, and unsurprisingly all anyone can talk about is Kim Kardashian, and Rihanna on the 2021 MET Gala red carpet. After a COVID-induced hiatus, fashion’s most prominent event celebrated its glorious return with stylish stars serving looks inspired by “American Independence,” the theme of this year’s exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute. Arguably the most anticipated arrivals of the night — which is saying something considering the A-list attendees — Kim Kardashian and Rihanna donned similar all-black ensembles, both by creative director Demna Gvasalia for the French house, Balenciaga. View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) The reality star appeared first in a unique couture gown that came with a matching mask and train. As the ensemble completely obscured Kim’s…

O Say Can You See How Perfectly These Celebs Nailed the Theme of the 2021 Met Gala

September 14, 2021 at 06:35PM The 2021 Met Gala featured celebs finding new and creative ways to evoke the year’s theme. With a dress code centered on the theme of American Independence, corresponding with the Met’s In America: A Lexicon of Fashion exhibit, the gala showcased the very best of American fashion and all the different meanings that “Americana” can take. Though some stars took a subtler approach, there were a handful of celebs who absolutely understood the assignment and soared bald-eagle-style above the rest! There were definitely a few “traditional” Americana designs but also several that evoked the rich history and diversity of what it means to be American in 2021. Take a look at some of our picks for the most on-theme stars of the night. Continue Reading… Author Amanda Prahl | citywomen.co Selected by CWC
