No One Believes I Found This Cool ÂŁ13 Top From Marks and Spencer

September 25, 2021 at 08:00AM What is behind our continued obsession with tie-dye? And when I say “our,” I mean everyone, not just the fashion crowd. While the trend might have exploded on the runways a few seasons ago (Dior, Proenza Schouler and Versace, to name a few), it wasn’t until we hit the first lockdown that the trend suddenly became the print du jour, with online global shopping platform Lyst reporting a huge increase in searches for the print last year. I think part of its appeal is to do with its roots—most recently in ‘60s hippie culture—and as such, it’s associated with a more laid-back lifestyle. In a world where anxiety is, understandably, at an all-time high, tie-dye gives the impression of being more chilled out even when you probably aren’t. Personally, my motivation for wearing tie-dye is somewhere in between the above reasons. I…

Kate Middleton Just Wore Another Piece We Can’t Believe She Found in Zara

September 25, 2021 at 08:00AM If you’re a regular reader of Who What Wear, you’re probably well acquainted with Kate Middleton’s wardrobe. She dresses pretty classically, but occasionally she’ll surprise us with something a bit different (case in point: this chic outfit with Warehouse and Chanel). The list of the designers she often turns to is pretty definite: often Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham and occasionally Erdem, Emilia Wickstead and Roksanda. But it’s not just the more expensive end of the spectrum she’s a fan of. She regularly wears high-street pieces from a range of brands, from Superga sneakers to & Other Stories dresses. But, and I’m going to put my stake in the ground here, her favourite store has to be Zara. For years she’s worn pieces from the high-street brand and always makes them look super expensive. Yesterday she attended a Euros game with…

I Turned 41 This Month, so I Had a Thread Lift—Here’s Why I Recommend It

September 25, 2021 at 08:00AM First of all, let me speak about the elephant in the room. At age 41, I am still young and have healthy skin (thanks to a stringent routine of cleansing, toning, treating, moisturising and sunscreening since age 14), and quite honestly, I feel better in my skin than I ever have. But there’s no denying the collagen depletion and bone loss that comes with age. Yes, that’s right. Apparently, bone mass peaks around ages 25–30 years and declines gradually thereafter in both men and women. Yay!  This is why I started having fillers at around age 37. (You can read my previous articles where I wax lyrical about liquid facials and lip fillers.) Now that I’m entering my 40s, I wanted to try something that didn’t just fill the depleted areas but that actually helped my own body generate its own collagen over time.…

3 French Haircuts That L.A. Girls Are Asking for Right Now

September 25, 2021 at 08:00AM After a long year of not getting my hair cut, I'm more excited than ever to get back into the salon. Admittedly, I’m not the adventurous type, so I’ll be resurrecting my grown-out bangs, but you’ve come to the right place if you’re itching to try something new. It’s a truth universally acknowledged that French girls are the epitome of style, so why not take a little inspiration from chic Parisians? To get the scoop on French haircuts that are popular with L.A. girls like me, I tapped David Pierre, founder and creative director of The Hair Atelier in West Hollywood, California. The French transplant is knowledgeable about hair trends on both sides of the Atlantic, so I knew he’d be the best stylist to ask. Scroll down to see his expert opinion. “Curtain bangs or any sort of fringe, in general, will automatically…

I’m a Flat-Shoe Expert, and These 31 Pairs Are the Prettiest I’ve Found

September 25, 2021 at 08:00AM Up until about six years ago, aside from holiday sandals, I never used to wear flat shoes. Instead, I’d teeter around in heels, whatever the occasion—be it a night out or a trip to the supermarket. I guess I had subscribed to the idea that working in the fashion industry meant practical things such as flat shoes weren’t part of the uniform. In my defence, flat shoes weren’t given the same treatment that they are today. Then the tide turned. From CĂ©line’s (when the brand still boasted its accent) Glove shoes to Gucci’s once-again-iconic Jordaan loafers, the humble flat was given the haute treatment by a host of brands. Now, you’ll find plentiful flat shoes that look just as pretty as heels, if not more so.It’s official—flat shoes are cool, and I wear them around the clock. Not only are they…

Dermatologists and Celebrities Swear By This Affordable Skincare Brand

September 25, 2021 at 08:00AM Skincare can be really expensive. In fact, I’m kind of fed up of tip-toeing around the fact that in so many cases, we’re all being painfully overcharged for certain skincare products. Brands know all too well the price that we’re willing to pay for great skin, and they’re not afraid to take advantage of it. However, as our skincare priorities have shifted, not only are brands charging obscene amounts of money for efficacious products, but they’re also driving up prices on products that look more aesthetically pleasing. As a result of this, it’s safe to say that when it comes to skincare, price does not always reflect quality. So when a no-frills product range comes along that doesn’t have a gimmicky name, doesn’t come housed in Instagram-worthy bottles and generally lacks fancies, it can be very easy for it…

Quilted Jackets Are Everywhere, But These 27 Are the Absolute Best

September 25, 2021 at 06:07AM We’re only mere days into autumn, and pieces that will define the season ahead are already beginning to emerge. The fashion set, it seems, is just as impatient as we are. From Ganni’s chunky knee boots (or the Marks and Spencer iteration if you’re feeling less flush) to Breton-stripe knits, these are the buys to own if you want to look on-trend and in the know right now.Eclipsing them all in covetability, however, is the quilted jacket. Of course, this isn’t exactly a new trend—variations of quilted jackets have been on our radar for the past few winters. But this year is about cropped, waist-grazing jackets with a defined quilted finish in either diamond or more abstract patterns, which is not to be mistaken for the tubular lines associated with puffer coats. The sudden rise in the quilted jacket’s popularity can be traced…

Hailey Bieber Swears By This ÂŁ192 Face Oil for Glowing Skin

September 25, 2021 at 06:00AM Between backing the micro-cardigan trend and cheerleading the return of everyone’s favourite ‘90s hair accessory, the claw clip, Hailey Bieber has definitely been one to watch in 2021 thanks to how much fun she’s been having with both her wardrobe and beauty choices. Since she already took to Instagram earlier this year to share her favourite beauty products with the world, I considered myself to have a pretty good steer on the types of formulas that make Bieber tick and the brands that she swears by to get that celebrity glow. But then I got wind that Bieber had been raving about a certain face oil that she hadn’t previously mentioned on the 'gram, and I knew I had to try it. Maybe this would be the product that would imbue my skin with an A-list radiance permanently and be the answer to my glowy-skin prayers?…
