15 of the Best Celebrity Halloween Costumes

November 01, 2021 at 06:45PM Halloween is sadly behind us, and what better way to mark the end of spooky season than a recap of the best celebrity costumes to grace our social feeds? Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner and Olivia De Jonge showed us what dreams are made of with a Lizzie McGuire Movie moment, dressing up as Paolo Valisari, Isabella Parigi and Lizzie McGuire, respectively. Over at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Harry Styles’ two night concert Harryween was in full swing, and we can thank the Watermelon Sugar singer for serving not one but two looks: Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz and what is likely the most chic clown costume we’ll ever see. We can’t forget the queen of Halloween: Heidi Klum, who came to slay with a short zombie flick on her IG in which the model meets “her untimely doom at…

Thank you, Insecure: Molly’s Chainlink Bra Top Is Now On My Holiday Mood Board

November 01, 2021 at 06:04PM A big thank you to Insecure’s costume designer, Shiona Turini, for inadvertently supplying some excellent holiday outfit inspiration via the show’s latest looks. In case you haven’t been watching (and in which case, what are you waiting for?!), here’s a spoiler you may have already seen coming: Molly (Yvonne Orji) wears a very good outfit in episode two. It’s largely thanks to that chainlink halter top, but the whole thing is pretty perfect, if you’re into statement-making dressing that’s chic and still kind of chill. Molly breezes into Issa’s big event, showing her support, dressed in a look that makes a mark - the kind you’d notice at any party for all the right reasons. It’s sexy, and chic, and not all that hard to pull together. So, we followed the inspiration and went shopping, pulling the key…

#TikTokMadeMeBuyIt: Beauty Brands Tap Into the App’s Selling Power

November 01, 2021 at 03:44PM On any given night, you’ll find blearyeyed, pyjama-clad people tucking into bed — while fervently thumbing through their TikTok feeds. It’s where you can learn anything from a trending dance to how to make feta-cheese pasta. More notably, the viral-video app is also making its mark on our bank statements. The hashtag #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt has over five billion views globally and an endless scroll of videos showing off every possible purchase, from makeup primers to levitating lamps. It’s no wonder that beauty brands both big and small are tapping into the selling power of TikTok. When Maybelline New York launched its Sky High Mascara stateside in November 2020, it partnered with TikTokers, asking them to share their test drives. The tube sold out at American cosmetics retailer Ulta four times. When it launched in Canada two months later, it…

If you’re looking for a sweater that’s mega cozy and just a little bit whimsical, Fair Isle is the perfect starting point. I’ve made your hunt for the perfect Fair Isle…

Caroline Hirons on the Skincare Rules You Should Actually Pay Attention To

November 01, 2021 at 10:00AM For a beauty editor (and beauty lover), interviewing Caroline Hirons is a bit like interviewing the pope. Or the queen. Or BeyoncĂ©. You see, Hirons is the most powerful woman in skincare. And while that might not seem like a big statement to those who don’t follow the world of beauty, let me explain. Before Hirons amassed her hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers and YouTube subscribers, we really weren’t entirely sure how to shop for skincare. Thousands of products lined the shelves and a handful of newly established 20-something beauty bloggers were telling us what to buy. But they weren’t skin experts, and Hirons is. Having trained as an aesthetician and consulted for some of beauty’s biggest brands, when Hirons launched her blog in 2010, the skincare landscape changed for good. Her no-holds-barred opinions were grounded in science, her straight-to-the-point advice cut through beauty…
