Out of all the high street stores,Ā M&S is probably the one whose autumn/winter collection we await most eagerly. Whether it’s their long-standing penchant for a classic winter coat orĀ talent for creating enviable knitwear,Ā it’s an ineffableĀ alchemy that the store brings toĀ our cold weather wardrobesĀ year after year. Well, we are happy to report that the 2021Ā collection has finally dropped, and it might just beĀ our favourite to date.Ā
Chock-a-block with those sort of elevated basics that you actually want to wear when the mercury drops,Ā I honestly struggled to pick my favourite buys out of the new in edit. But, eventually, IĀ decided to stick to theĀ pieces that I believe look far and beyond their high-street price tag and also are easily mixed and matched.Ā So what does this look like? We’re talking flattering wide leg jeans, boxy leather jackets, colourful knits, chunky boots and layerableĀ knits. So much goodness, so little time.
If you were to push me to pick one item, I would have toĀ go for the textured funnel neck jumper in lime green. Why? I really think a colour-pop knit will be an invaluable asset in your new season wardrobe as it will instantly add an AW21 spin to the neutrals that proliferated last year. I’m thinking a lime green knit styled with wide leg jeans, chunky boots and an oversized trench coat. Oh so chic.
