Madonna’s Daughter Lourdes Leon Nailed the Catsuit and Pantaleggings Trends

On the Marine Serre runway in Paris on Saturday, June 25, Madonna’s oldest daughter Lourdes Leon solidified her place as a model to watch. The 25-year-old star strutted down the catwalk in a catsuit imprinted with the brand’s signature crescent moon motif from head to toe. In line with the pantaleggings trend ushered in by Balenciaga, the design incorporated both pants and shoes seamlessly enmeshed with the same print, and came with built-in gloves.
Leon’s accessories shined brightly on the sports field runway, recalling an ‘80s penchant for maximalist dressing. A heavy stack of chokers, chain necklaces, and pendants adorned her neck, the longest one featuring a prominent crescent moon charm that perfectly matched her earrings. There were also layers of chain belts wrapped around Leon’s waist, as well as stacks of bracelets visible on both wrists.
Leon closed the show with the confidence and slight irreverence she’s becoming known for. “I want to create a world in which models have more agency over what they’re doing, and they’re not just silent clothing racks,” she shared in a recent conversation with Interview magazine. “That’s the age that we’re coming into in the fashion world: models as personalities and artists.” This attitude clearly showed through her walk on the runway, which also counted singer Jorja Smith among the models; she stunned in a strapless patchwork denim dress and a choker in the same fabric.
The catwalk showcased additional patchwork denim looks marked with Serre’s crescent moon, as well as body-con silhouettes like the one modeled by Leon. The collection opened on a series of black-and-white swimwear separates with an Olympic feel, before transitioning into a range of structured jackets, two-piece sets, piped dresses and silky midis – many of them printed with ’80s-inspired jewelry motifs. With this collection, Serre is not only presenting its take on fashion trends, but also encouraging sustainable production as many of the garments were constructed from upcycled materials.
