Following the announcement of her new shapewear venture, YITTY, Lizzo has been unveiling some of the looks from her collection on Instagram. Most recently, the Grammy-winning artist modeled a red sleeveless bodysuit, writing, “THE TRUST I HAVE IN THIS @YITTY BODYSUIT CHILEEEE… ❤️🔥❤️” In the video, Lizzo struts, dances, and jumps in the YITTY design, which features a plunging neckline, a built-in bra for added support, and a stretchy bodice.
With its figure-skimming fit and seemingly comfortable fabric, the scarlet bodysuit stayed in place the entire time, capturing Lizzo’s vision of clothes that are meant to be lived in. As the singer shared in an official statement, “I was tired of seeing this sad, restrictive shapewear that literally no-one wanted to wear. I had an epiphany like, ‘who can actually do something about this?’ I decided to take on the challenge of allowing women to feel unapologetically good about themselves again.”
The red bodysuit is one of several such pieces Lizzo developed in collaboration with Fabletics, the active “life wear” brand founded by Kate Hudson. YITTY will be released as three distinct collections: Nearly Naked, Mesh Me, and Major Label, all available to shop on April 12 at YITTY.com.
Last week, in an Instagram live session titled “TOUR MY @YITTY CLOSET W/ ME!!,” the “Truth Hurts” singer took her 12 million followers inside a surprise YITTY room that contained products from all three lines. Along the way, she also highlighted the packaging – a purple ombré logo box reportedly made of sustainable materials – and answered questions about the collection. “It’s very important to us that we get YITTY out to as many people as possible,” Lizzo said. “Of course, I’m selling clothes here. I’m selling a mentality, a lifestyle, a brand.”
Lizzo also teased an upcoming YITTY pop-up store, although she did not disclose where it will be located. We’ll have to stay tuned for those details, but in the meantime, you can check out the red bodysuit, both in Lizzo’s video and the campaign imagery, ahead.
