Lizzo Is Dripping Pearls in a Classic Chanel Gown on the Met Gala Carpet

Lizzo arrived on the 2023 Met Gala red carpet in a black Chanel gown that let the pearl detailing do the talking. For her third year at the Met, the “About Damn Time” singer was styled by Patti Wilson, who also styles the likes of Beyoncé and Julia Fox. Complete with a high slit and pearl bodice, the look perfectly encapsulated the “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” theme; even Lizzo’s fingerless gloves sported Chanel’s classic pearl detailing.

At last year’s “Gilded Glamour”-themed gala, the Grammy-winning artist stayed true to her sartorial risk-taking ways, sporting a black-and-gold embroidered cape by Thom Browne, which took nearly 1,200 hours to create. In 2019, she also pushed boundaries in a custom pink, flamingo-esque Marc Jacobs dress along with a hot pink wig to match. Outside of the Met Gala, the fearless singer continues to make bold fashion choices, including at the 2023 Brit Awards, where she rocked a pink dress with a headboard like only she can.
