It’s a fair assumption that I’m a big fan of clothing, in general, working in fashion and all that. But even though my occupation involves looking at a lot of products every day, I still miss some real zingers. I am but one woman, after all. That’s why, then, I find Instagram such a treasure trove for discovering new brands and new stylish people to follow for tricks, tips and ideas on how to get dressed. While dressing for winter might make you feel a bit blue, you can still find some fun in your wardrobe. And I don’t know about you, but I’ve become stuck in a bit of a rut as of late, rotating the same items every week.

This is why I turned to some of the coolest people on Instagram to give me some ideas on how to give my winter wardrobe some oomph. It’s worth noting that all of the women I spoke to have very different styles and chose pieces, and in some cases brands, I’d never seen before, which is exactly why this is so brilliant. There’s a pair of yellow boots from Miista that are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face and make any outfit fun. Then there’s the coolest fluffy hat that is bound to keep you warm and looking great. But minimalists, fret not, as there are still plenty of more traditional winter pieces, such as the perfect beige beanie. Keep scrolling to see the coolest shopping lists you’ll find right now.

Style Notes: Na Chainkua Reindorf’s love of monochrome outfits shines through on her Instagram account, which is full of chic separates, cool dresses and a few patterned pieces. This is who we turn to for minimalistic-with-a-twist style.

Style Notes: I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love Alexis Foreman’s style. A true minimalist through and through, she often opts for brands such as Totême, Jil Sander and Arket.

Style Notes: Want to know what a French woman wears in winter? Check out Deborah Sebag’s style for classically French looks.

Style Notes: You absolutely need Jazmine Rogers’s IG account in your life if you need a wardrobe refresh that incorporates colour. From brightly coloured boots to patterned jeans, these ideas are bound to give a dopamine hit to your wardrobe.

Style Notes: Oslo-based Nnenna Echem might live in a very cold country during the winter, but her outfits are the opposite of bleak. Always bright and colourful, she is the queen of pattern clashing.
