Now that spring has arrived, my desire to shop has increased tenfold. I’ve made an alarming amount of trips to the mall and been adding pieces to my cart virtually more than I should probably admit. But one consistency I’ve noticed among my many hauls lately is that I’ve been very drawn to linen in all forms: pants, bags, dresses, you name it. I recently added Old Navy’s now nearly sold-out Linen-Blend Pointy-Toe Mule Flats ($22, originally $25), which I expect to be one of my go-to pairs of footwear this spring. But now I have a new obsession: the brand’s High-Waisted Linen-Blend Wide-Leg Pants ($12, originally $40), which I currently have on as I type this.
I ordered size medium in the safari-green color dubbed arugula. Naturally, I slipped into them minutes after they arrived at my apartment and instantly knew they’d become a staple in my spring-summer wardrobe. Why? They’re soft, breathable, and subtly oversize like pajama pants, but they look luxe, like something you picked up at a beachside boutique while on vacation. The elasticized, high-rise waistband features an adjustable drawstring inside so you can tie it to your peak comfort level, be it fitted at the waist or loose and slouchy – I opted for the former.
These pants are perfect for completing a casual look this season, but I personally think they’re even better to travel with, and I fully intend to pack them on every warm-weather trip I take in the near future. Hear me out: Can’t you picture them with a cream-colored knit tank, sandals, and a raffia clutch? You could even buy a second pair exclusively for the beach to function as a stylish cover-up. Call me obsessed, but I could name off even more ways to style them, given the chance – the opportunities are endless.
I’m not surprised to reveal that other Old Navy shoppers also love these linen pants. They have over 200 five-star reviews and nearly a perfect rating overall. “Perfect for a ‘no hard pants’ day!” one shopper wrote. Another read my mind, writing, “Wish there were more colors.” I’m positive I’ll be adding them to my cart in black, too, but gosh, wouldn’t a cream or rusty orange color look so good?
