It’s been a while since I’ve thoroughly combed through what H&M has to offer, so this week, I visited a few of the stores to get a feel of its new pieces. Having worked in retail for the brand for a couple of years in the past, I noticed that H&M’s style has drastically changed. It used to lean more into bold colours and patterns, but now it’s gravitated towards a more simplistic approach. I was really struck by the dominant neutral colour palette.
When it comes to specific categories, its coat game is pretty strong this year. I found myself being drawn to the outerwear pieces the most. It has a good variety when it comes to styles from quilting to more structured tailoring. Here are a few of the current pieces that I would love to add to my wardrobe.
This polo-neck top provides a subtle way to still add florals into your autumn/winter looks. The brand has also used this particular print on a few other pieces such as dresses and blouses.
Knit dresses are a must for me when it comes to winter. I really like this layered over knitted trousers for a cool silhouette.
I know this will be annoying, as I can’t find this dress online currently, but it’s such a fabulous print and silhouette I just couldn’t exclude it from this edit.

I really love the subtle abstract pattern on this dress. I also tucked it in to see if it could work well as a top, and it looked really good! The neck comes up quite tight so you may want to put this on before the makeup.
Ribbed knit trousers have been my ultimate go-to for a while. They’re super comfortable and go with absolutely everything—you can’t go wrong. This khaki pair has such a luxe look and feel.
When it comes to details on coats, I do love some sort of collar, but after trying this quilted coat on, I could well and truly be on my way to being a collarless convert.
There’s obviously a reason this caught my eye, and I guess it’s obvious as to why! The cobalt blue is very striking, and the slight sheen this bomber jacket has definitely makes the colour pop even more. It’s currently only available in black online, which I also love.
This piece actually came home with me! I’ve been on the hunt for some new blazers to add to my wardrobe, and this one fit the bill. I tend to go for blazers that have quite a bit of structure, but I found that although this is slightly on the thinner side, it falls on the body really nicely.
This satin number would look fab paired with flared trousers, or when you actually wear it as a dress, a cute pair of tights would be a lovely touch. Definitely a great party piece!
I could have definitely tried this in the smaller size, but I like how oversized the gilet is. I would style this up with a really thick roll-neck jumper to keep warm. This quilted pattern is everywhere at the moment and for good reason!
Can you tell I love a good gilet? Not quite weather-appropriate for now on its own, but I think it can work as an extra layer to a winter outfit. I’m also obsessed with this khaki colour.
Next up, more high-street pieces we have loved on Instagram recently.
