Colour—my favourite thing to wear! From sunshine shades to highlighter brights, this season, anything goes! Yes, quite literally, and I would challenge anyone to find a spring colour trend that wasn’t seen on the runways for S/S 22. But with so much choice (have you been to Zara lately?), I’m always asked how to wear them.
Traditional suiting neutrals have been replaced with pink, green and orange and styled with tonal shirting and accessories to create a head-to-toe look. If you’re a colour novice, try the combo of green and black seen at key designer brands such as Bottega Veneta and The Frankie Shop. For a softer palette, look to influencer Leonie Hanne. She is often seen layering ice cream shades with a camel coat or white accessories. And if you’re looking to test the water, high-street stores from Zara to Mango have a great selection of accessories you can add to your all-black uniform. Still not convinced? Get more wear from your favourite summery looks by layering them over a pair of leather look trousers. I added a pair of clashing embellished purple heels to give this outfit more of a party feel.
On your daily Instagram scroll you may have noticed green and black have been one of the go-to colour combos thanks to Bottega Veneta’s new packaging (believe it or not). And whilst that sounds a little bonkers, it is a great way to wear super brights whilst is still pretty grey outside.

Its been a while since frou-frou pieces in delicate fabrics had their moment but this season the prettiest of pinks are back on the catwalk. I’ll be buying into this trend with this easy, throw-on Rixo dress as I will get a lot of wear out of it.
Leather and leather-look trousers, blazers and coats have been one of the key looks to have in your winter wardrobe, and for spring they’re sticking round but in a more summery colour palette. This shade of lavender is surprisingly easy to style as it works with most colours.
Trading your classic black coat in for a brighter option this spring is one of the easiest ways to switch up your daily uniform. And if you want to mix several colours, white jeans will add instant polish and showcase your colour palette of choice.
If you really want to be ahead of the curve buy into new season pastels with a ‘90s feel. It may look like one of my outfits from 1995 but this corset and trouser set are fresh off the rack.
Rainbow queen Olivia Rubin has nailed all-season colour. Her icecream shades are super easy to mix and match and when I wear them can really lift my mood.
Wardrobe staples including the humble mannish shirt are available in an array of colours this season, everywhere from the high street to some of my favourite designers such as Rejina Pyo. This shade of apple green is EVERYWHERE for spring.
Colour isn’t just for the summer months. Pieces like this knitted dress can be worn all year round with tights and boots and with bare legs when the sun begins to shine.
When it comes to partywear if you’re not wearing a ’90s-inspired LBD then go for volume in the brightest colour you can find.
