Having worked as a fashion editor for 10 years, I like to think I have a strong sense of the things that are worth investing in or not. But every now and then, an item or trend can emerge that can take the whole Who What Wear team by surprise, and this year that would have to be a fleece. Fleeces have become a surprising ‘fashion’ item over the last few winters, with the likes of Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber wearing them instead of jackets or cashmere.
I finally gave in and invested into the trend and bought a beautiful cream pile pull-over from Arket. Yes, I used the word beautiful to describe a fleece, but hear me out. The pile fabric is really thick and luxurious making it the ultimate winter cosy jacket. and the leather trims on the pockets, cuffs and zip make it look really expensive and premium. I bought it with my upcoming trip to the Alps in mind, but it’d also be ideal for a weekend in the countryside or worn with black trousers to make it feel a little smarter.
