It’s nearly winter, and I’ve finally come to grips with reality when it comes to my footwear. While I’ll put on a full-length coat and even gloves much of the time, I was walking my pup in sandals up until a few weeks ago. As any dog owner can surely relate, when it comes to early-morning and late-night trips, I just can’t be bothered with shoes that require lacing or zipping, and honestly, pulling on slip-on sneakers with my hands is too much actual effort when in a rush.
I had been eyeing moccasins as an alternative since it’s easier to just slide a foot in (especially if they’re a bit roomy) but hadn’t been looking for actual slippers until I spotted these Old Navy Plaid Faux-Fur Trim Moccasin Slippers ($22, originally $25). Not only are they especially festive, but I could also tell the sherpa lining would be twice as cozy with socks … but better than any flats without.
Of course, when I spotted a matching puffy coat for pets on sale for Black Friday, I immediately scooped that up for a twinning look on chilly days (and I’m looking to up my co-ord game with more buffalo plaid ASAP, too). I can’t say enough great things about these slippers as shoes, but learn exactly why I love them with all my heart and soles ahead.
