Pat yourself on the back because you’ve done it. You’ve made it through the darkest days of winter! I’m sure you’ll agree, that felt like a *particularly* long one. And although mother nature seems to have a troublesome weather system or two up her sleeve, there’s nothing that can get in the way of the fact that it’s now light at 5pm, and the crocus’ and daffodils are starting to appear in the park— Hoorah! That means spring is officially on its way, and in my eyes that’s as good a reason as any to celebrate.

One of the best things about a new season is that it makes us all feel more inspired with our wardrobes, doesn’t it? The change in weather from winter to spring brings a whole host of opportunities for new outfits, less layers and a fresh colour palette. Although I personally love winter dressing and layering all those cosy neutrals together, like anything, after a while it can get a little repetitive. So it’s always nice when the time comes to unearth your vacuum-packed lighter, brighter layers from the loft again or deep dive into the back of your closet to discover pieces you’d forgotten about since last September. The joys of shopping your own wardrobe!

Mango, Pocket Tweed Jacket (£60)

Of course, you may also be thinking about injecting some newness into your existing wardrobe to elevate what you already have and make it feel fresh for the new year ahead. That might mean topping up your basics or investing in some key hero pieces you feel your wardrobe is missing: the perfect trench coat, a smart handbag or wear-everywhere dress. Or it might just be about adding one or two beautiful things to your collection that you really love, which in turn make all your current pieces feel brand new again.

Whatever your reasoning behind wanting to shop this season, there’s an awful lot of newness out there to choose from. And since it’s literally my job to scroll through everything and pinpoint the pieces truly worth buying, I thought it might be helpful to pull together a bumper edit of 50 epic pieces I’ve seen recently that feel inspiring for spring (and beyond). From Mango’s joyful brights to Totême’s timeless classics, I’d go so far as to say there’s not much out there worth seeing that’s not in this list. Keep scrolling to get inspired and shop your favourites…
