Dua Lipa is taking a break from her “Future Nostalgia” tour in style. The singer, who is currently on the US leg of her tour and most recently performed in Phoenix, AZ, shared photos from a desert escape that she embarked on with her friend Olive Uniacke. “~ reset ~,” she captioned a photo of herself on a boat, sporting a turquoise crushed-velvet swimsuit underneath a fuzzy magenta button-snap flannel.
The bold monokini comes from Inamorata, the swim line by supermodel Emily Ratajkowski, who quickly approved of the ensemble in the comments, writing, “That suit on you 😍💓💫,” promptly reposting Lipa’s image to her own account. Lipa sported the iSA One-Piece – which retails for $160 and comes in sizes XS-XL – in Frost, though the luxuriously textured silhouette is also available in Scarlett.
Complete with a strapless neckline and cutout at one side, this style is memorable from all angles and ideal for mixing textures. Lipa added finishing touches to the look with ‘00s-inspired accessories, like chunky flower rings and a trucker hat.
As a longtime fan of reworking trends from the early aughts, Lipa’s choice in velvet swimwear should come as no surprise – the fabric takes us straight back to the days of Juicy Couture tracksuits. And for her “Sweetest Pie”-era wardrobe, she was spotted wearing a bejeweled corset for a Marie Antoinette-themed shoot, not unlike the bustiers and Victorian-inspired pieces she and Megan Thee Stallion pull off in their new music video.
These trends have carried over into her street style. Lipa has been experimenting nonstop with polarizing ’00s elements, like butterfly motifs and hip cutouts. What’s more, stylist Lorenzo Posocco has been dressing Lipa in designs from major fashion houses and buzzy emerging brands, including Area, Bottega Veneta, Khaite, and Balenciaga.
