These 17 Cream Coats Are the Very Definition of Chic

April 01, 2022 at 06:06AM Spring may be here, but coat weather is still firmly in place, for now. When it comes to styles I wear on repeat, I either opt for a tailored longline or a trench in either beige, navy or tan. Some may say boring, I say classic. But when it comes to coats this year, I branched out and got my first quilted puffer with checked sleeves from Baum Und Pferdgarten. Wild I know. And if I’m honest, my head has also been swayed by one for the most popular coats for women right now: cream coats. I’ve spotted so many of my fellow fashion editors and influencers alike sporting this particular colour. And while it’s an on-the-go coffee nightmare, I can’t stop thinking about how effortless they look with every outfit. Sure, you’ll need to splash out on dry cleaning…

15 Beautiful Dress Brands Making Me So Excited for Spring

April 01, 2022 at 06:01AM There’s nothing I love more at the moment than indulging in a spot of springtime style daydreaming, escaping just for a second into thoughts of warmer temperatures and, inevitably, the fashion that comes with them. And when it comes to spring clothes, nothing feels more seasonally appropriate than a pretty dress.Admittedly I’m a dress girl, but I can’t be the only one who gets endorphins just thinking about slipping into one (without the need for thermal tights underneath). While I have quite the collection of them hanging in my wardrobe, which I can’t wait to get the wear out of, I can’t help but let my eye wander to the stunning array of dresses that have begun to drop in just about every new-in section on the internet for spring.Emma Leger wears a tulle dress from independent brand Selkie. From high-end to…

April 01, 2022 at 06:00AM Whether you’re a staunch minimalist, a proud lover of colour or have a penchant for print, spring is one of those seasons that unites everyone with its fashionable optimism. Dresses emerge from storage, winter coats are swapped for lighter jackets and sandals even make their first tentative appearance. For us, March is typically the month that signals this sartorial changing of the guard, and right on cue, all of our favourite stores have just started dropping their new-season collections. Which brand is at the top of our list? It has to be Whistles.A true stalwart of the Brit fashion scene, Whistles is one of the few stores that has remained consistent over the last few years, sticking to its original design DNA and solving every fashion dilemma life throws at us. 47 Incredible Wedding Dresses and Outfits That Cost Less Than £1000

April 01, 2022 at 05:11AM A lot has changed in the bridal fashion market since I got married in 2017. At that time the options for a fashion-forward dress on a tight budget were very limited, and I knew definitively that I didn’t want to go down the traditional route of meringues and fittings and remortgaging the house to secure “the one”. So, I ended up buying an off-the-peg monochrome Proenza Schouler dress on a whim whilst in Harvey Nichols for a press event. No friends or family were with me, there were no happy tears and it couldn’t have been less of a “moment” but I was so happy with the result. The fact is, for many brides-to-be, the idea of putting aside £20k for a gown that you wear once and probably destroy on the dance-floor, has been outmoded for a while now. It’s taken a few years…

Emma Roberts’s Two-Tone Look Could Double as a Chanel Oberlin Costume

March 31, 2022 at 11:20PM Emma Roberts is all about embracing color. On March 31, the “American Horror Story” actress stepped out in NYC for Kate Spade New York’s fall 2022 presentation wearing a serious amount of houndstooth. Styled by her go-to duo Brit and Kara Elkin, Roberts wore a red-and-pink houndstooth-patterned coat that featured red fur along the cuffs and collar. She stuck to the same bright color scheme under the coat with a matching red-and-pink tweed dress. Roberts finished the ensemble with a pair of red pointed-toe heels and a white Kate Spade New York structured purse. If you look closely, you can see Roberts’s dainty gold huggie earrings, each with an accompanying ruby stone. It’s an outfit that Chanel Oberlin, her “Scream Queens” character, would approve of - thanks in part to the chic coat and white Lelet NY hair…

This Andie Swimsuit Brings Mykonos Vibes to NYC

March 31, 2022 at 10:15PM Swimwear brand Andie is known for making pool-ready pieces tailored to fit the body in all the right places. Scrolling through the swimsuit maker’s site, you’ll find a sea of figure-flattering one- and two-piece bathing suits in a range of colors and available in sizes XS-XXXL. Recently, I was offered the opportunity to give an Andie one-piece swimsuit a try and chose The Mykonos ($115). The Mykonos silhouette is available in many fabrics and colorways. There’s the “flat,” which is made of nylon and spandex and available in black, cherry red, and navy. “Eco Poly,” the second fabric, is made of spandex and a recycled, plastic-bottle-sourced polyester; it’s available in a limited-edition espresso color. Finally, there’s Ribbed: a nylon-spandex blend that offers the most compressive fit, according to Andie’s site. It’s available in two classic colors: black and…

Why Are There So Many Wet Shirts in Period Dramas?

March 31, 2022 at 10:07PM A tall, dark and handsome man emerges from a lake wearing a soaking wet, white dress shirt. Sound familiar? If you’ve spent the last few days binge-watching Bridgerton season two, then it should. In episode five, there’s a pivotal swoon-worthy moment in a show built upon swoon-worthy moments where Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) takes an accidental swim while helping Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) out of a boat. It’s cute, full of chemistry and just a little risqué, meaning it perfectly encapsulates the Netflix phenomenon. But is it unique? Not so much. If you’re an avid period drama aficionado like myself, you’ve probably seen more suitors in wet white shirts than you can count: Greg Wise in 1995’s Sense & Sensibility, Dan Stevens in 2008’s Sense & Sensibility, Rupert Friend in Young Victoria, Toby Stephens in Jane Eyre, Aidan…

The Reason Penelope’s Wardrobe Shifts From Yellow to Pink in “Bridgerton” Season 2

March 31, 2022 at 07:25PM Penelope Featherington’s yellow dresses aren’t going anywhere in “Bridgerton” season two, but now more than ever, the details are worth honing in on. Season one costume designer Ellen Mirojnick originally chose yellow for Penelope - whose alter ego is gossip columnist Lady Whistledown - because it represents her deceitful nature and also ties back to the Regency era, when yellow was one of the more fashionable colors. Her mother, Portia, who is incredibly concerned with the family’s social standing, has chosen the shade for her daughters as she works tirelessly to find them husbands. In season two, Penelope’s distaste for yellow is highlighted when Edwina Sharma compliments her dress at the ball and she interprets the remark as sarcasm. “Oh, you have a sense of humor,” Penelope says, going on to admit to Edwina she’s grown weary of…
