Beyonce’s Crystal Bodysuit Gives Major Alien-Superstar Vibes

Beyoncé celebrated her long-awaited seventh studio album “Renaissance” among a vibrant group of close family and friends at the Times Square Edition on Saturday, Aug. 5. Just one week after introducing the culture-shifting project to the world with hits like “Break My Soul” and “Alien Superstar,” she’s managed to showcase an evolution not only prominent within her music, but her wardrobe as well. With guidance from her personal stylists Marni Senofonte and KJ Moody, Beyoncé chose to channel the ‘80s in a head-turning look with crystals as the over-arching theme, coherent with the vibe of the party: Studio 54 dance, aka “Club Renaissance.”
She slipped into a thigh-baring dress, the product of a collaboration between Timothy White and Julian Mendez Couture, complete with full gloves, padded shoulders, a plunging neckline, and draped sash in the front. The alluring ensemble was accompanied by Wolford black stockings, Giuseppe Zanotti silver bedazzled platform heels, and a luxurious array of Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
As if the queen of the night’s look was not already innovative enough, the “I’m That Girl” singer wore a custom Judith Leiber clutch, which took the shape of a vinyl record and was adorned with crystals and a “Renaissance 7.29.22” label, serving as an ode to the release of the special project.
The singer also had husband JAY-Z on her arm, who channeled the ’80s in his own way, clad in an ivory satin suit paired with a black V-neck shirt and black shoes.
Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” era is certainly raising the bar, and we only expect more boundary-pushing looks from the timeless star, who has set the standard for groundbreaking fashion moments as she’s rolled out unconventional Ivy Park campaigns and starred on internet-breaking covers, including her recent appearance in Alaïa on British Vogue.
