Knitted co-ords became my new favourite thing last autumn. Pre-styled enough to feel considered and more directional than a mere winter dress but essentially matchy and therefore easy to throw on, this is cosiness combined with being pulled together. These skirt-and-jumper combos always look sophisticated (just make sure they aren’t too clingy), yet they couldn’t be simpler to throw on each morning.
So it’s perhaps no surprise, then, that for 2021 (aka the year of the cosy co-ord), this look has been spotted all over Instagram. Last year, it was a khaki roll-neck and midi from ASOS that everyone from Erica Davies to Jessica Skye wore, but this year, there are so many iterations around.
Depending on how brave you are, it has to be said that knitted co-ords look best with bare legs. But with the addition of weather-appropriate footwear and making a call on whether you want a coat or layering, these twosomes can be used in many a cool or warm combination.
