The It shoes that have been gracing the feet of fashion insiders over the last 2 years or so can be summarised as thus: Flats and flatforms. Whether its Prada’s loafers, Bottega’s chunky Chelseas or even the return of the UGG, comfort and casual appeal hasĀ been the name of the gameāwhich is unsurprising considering how much time we’ve spent on our sofasĀ throughout 2020 and 2021. Perhaps, this is whyĀ this season the fashion crowd haveĀ embraced aĀ heel so extreme that even devotedĀ stiletto-lovers may quail at its epic proportions.Ā
Coming in a high-shine patent fabric and rainbow of hues, Valentino’s Tan-Go platform has well and truly captured the hearts of the fashion crowd, and within the space of a fortnight, we’ve spotted them on the likes of Emili Sindlev, Camille Charriere and EllieĀ Delphine. Styled with everything from jeans and maxi dresses to micro shorts, I’m not sure you can exactly describe them as ‘versatile’, but they certainly seem to beĀ cateringĀ to a wide range of outfits and personal tastes. As always, whereĀ trend-settersĀ go, shoppers follow, and the shoe has almost sold outĀ on Net-a-Porter and Valentino’s own e-commerce site.
