Fashion month has understandably been very subdued over the past two years. However, this season, more designers have been showing their collections in person. More events mean more guests and in turn more street style images for us to pore over. It is still such a treat to see people having fun with their clothes again, experimenting with innovative styling moves and dressing up. What buyers, editors and industry insiders wear outside the shows now has almost as much impact on how people dress as the runways do. Instead of a preview of what will be coming in six months’ time, these are styling ideas that can be copied and items that can be purchased right now.
Every season, we create this Shop the Street story, which is a wish list inspired by the items we see over fashion month. So far, we have ticked Copenhagen and New York Fashion Week off the fashion month calendar, and thanks to the icy temperatures, we’ve seen lots of balaclavas, knitwear and oversized coats. In the list are some classic luxury favourites, such as the Bottega Veneta Jodie bag and Valentino earrings, as well as some buzzier buys. Totême is a cult favourite this year, and we’ve lost count of the number of pieces we’ve seen already from the brand outside of the shows this fashion month.
